🏈 How are ticket prices around stadium close to kick off?

I'm looking to take the mom and wife down to the UF game this year. My wife has never been to a big-time Alabama home game. My mom hasn't been to a big game in probably ten years. I had three tickets locked up, so I thought, and the guy has since fallen off the face of the earth.

So, how bad are ticket prices around kickoff? They're absolutely absurd online right now. I'm tempted to go down and just keep checking Craigslist from my iPhone to find people trying to sell their extras online that get desperate. I checked online the morning of the PSU game and decided not to go down and chance it only to watch prices drop to face value--I was more than agitated.

On the off-chance that anyone here knows where I can come across three or four decently priced tickets for this weekend I'm all ears. I promise to leave the "barner" gear at home and be a respectable football fan! Just trying to get the wife to her first big game. As it stands the only game of consequence she's been to were the last two Auburn games.

Tickets for the PSU game were going about 50 cheaper at the game than they were online. You're going to have the same problem I had though. You won't find 3 together close to kickoff. If you don't mind buying a pair and a single, you might get in at $150 a piece.

So in other words she still hasn't been to a game of consequence....

I never buy tickets outside stadium, so I wouldn't know. Someone told me available tickets drop way down on StubHub on game day, but I don't know how you'd get the tickets. ??????

Argo, I figured three would be an issue. I'd take four if necessary. I don't really mind sitting off by myself somewhere if I can just get them decent tickets. I want DuBose and Shula back! It was so much easier to get tickets back then!

Yeah, the StubHub prices tank but I'm a bit concerned about that. Lack of communication before confirming purchase scares me a bit.

Yeah, there is a way to use stub hub the day of game. I wonder what percentage of the tickets bought and sold at Stub Hug actually never change hands from one owner to another, but instead are just picked up at the gate for will call? Man, sports ticketing has become a big business. Heck, some of the people in my office pay for their entire ticket package from the university just by selling the 1 or 2 big game tickets included.

next year, all of our big games, except lsu, are on the road.

What? You're passing up Auburn-UL Monroe for Bama-Florida? ;)

Look around and find a some one looking for just 1 ticket.
the scalpers won't part off 3.
That's what i did @ the 08 Iron Bowl.
Stood around a vendor and waited for some one looking for 3....so i could snag the 4th.
I can only asume it will work both ways.

I am going to second what uagrad 93 said. Be very careful about counterfeit tickets as I came across some right before the game. The tickets were being sold by a guy who had the placard that is supposedly issued by the ticket office but I am sure he counterfeited that also. The tickets also had a hologram on them so look for the texture of the ticket, make sure there is more than one gate on the ticket and look for the face value. If any of these things seem weird I would say pass on the tickets. Just don't want to see what happened to some of my friends happen to someone else.

I have bought tickets many times outside the stadium. The only (2) games that I did not see any available tickets (and thankfully, I had mine for those games) were the 92 National Championship and the Bama Clemson Kick off in Atlanta. Tickets were few and far between for those and cost big dollars. Most of the time, you can get tickets on game day for face value or just a little greater. Many of your usual scalpers and those holding faculty tickets are in front of Denny Chimes. Our success does decrease availability and increase prices but the additional seats have helped. Also - go to E-bay and send a message to some of the sellers. Some of them have usual places outside the stadium and they will tell you where to meet them and/or even have business cards they can give you for future purchases. Their e-bay prices are always higher than their game day prices but the tickets are a sure thing compared to taking the chance. Good Luck and ROLL TIDE
