šŸˆ How about Alabama vs. Miami in a 2012 opener at the Georgia Dome?

Nick Saban>> On a proposed game against Miami in the 2012 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game: "We're interested in a lot of scenarios there. We work with ESPN. We work with the Chick-fil-A people. They presented us with five teams that we could play there or five teams we could play at Jerry Jones Stadium in Dallas. We're viewing all the options."

Regardless of who, some teams will play in the Atlanta recruiting market that day.

Question: Which is better, Bama playing in the Atlanta market with the Miami recruiting market watching, which denies that chance to another SEC team; or to permit another SEC team to play in that recruiting market against Miami while we play in the Dallas recruiting market while some other recruiting market watches?

It may not impact our Georgia recruiting much (because we are doing well), but I wonder if it is more beneficial to target Miami or Dallas.

Perhaps I spoke too soon. My problem is I don't even want to be in the same state with ut fans, much less the same city. I guess he can make it work on Labor Day weekends by playing on Saturday and Monday.

I think it would be better exposure for you guys to pick up a game at Jerry World. Kids across Alabama, Florida and Georgia are already familiar with Bama, especially after the title win this year. Playing in Dallas would open up that recruiting market to you. I would love to see Bama/USC, especially if Bama can field the type of D they had last year and the type of O they seem to have this year so they could beat the piss out of USC with Kiffin roaming the sidelines.

I can't see how going to Dallas would be a bad thing.
  • Playing within a rich recruiting region
  • Ensures a cross-sectional game
  • Huge stadium to all more fans to follow
Whereas Atlanta;
  • Dimishing return a risk with our third visit
  • We play there anyway in the Championship Games
  • If we are in Atlanta with those who know us, a rival is in Dallas with those who don't
