Note the title reads "Pick" and not "Picks" this week. Thinking back to my dog track and horse track days, I have realized I have been trying to hit a "Pick 3" in the most difficult way possible. With long shots rather than favorites. Sticking to just my top 2 picks in the last 2 weeks-the Pac 10 games of USC at WU and Cal at Oregon- I not only hit both but the home team underdog won both straight up.
Funny thing happened on the way to my top pick this week. The great # 4 ranked LSU isn't even good enough to be the favorite on the road. LSU #4!? Folks, I'm here to tell you- if there aren't but 3 teams better than LSU, then CFB is in SERIOUS trouble.
So, with that said, I guess I'm back to the Pac-10 with my pick. Seems as if it was more than just Cal looking ahead to USC last week, but I'm going to hope it was no more than that and say that USC will not cover the 5 point spread at Cal.
