🏈 Here's are a few things I'd like to get an answer for (dealing with rivals, and our own fans.)

You've probably seen a lot of people talk about Elam and mention the point they think he'll remain in Kentucky because of the in-state pressure. Yet, we also see people say Hump is going to leave the state of Alabama and commit to FSU.

What am I missing here?

When we were heading into fall camp, and discussing teams around the NCAA, there were a lot of people (including me) pointing to Nick Marshall's history. I'm not talking about anything other than football here. He was a defensive back, wasn't considered to be that strong of a QB, but he was the second coming for a lot of Auburn fans.

Now, with Coker, a lot are pointing to his high school numbers, the point he was a ranked a three star, and based on that he's not supposed to be able to fill in and take the role Bama needs at QB.

What am I missing here?

I've noticed a lot of LSU fans talking about the improvement they have with Cam Cameron as an offensive coordinator. The latest is how they were the first team in SEC history to have a 3000 passer, two 1000 yard receivers, and a 1000 yard running back.

The first time in NCAA history a team did that was in 2005 when Kiffin was the offensive coordinator for USC. But, as an offensive coordinator, he's going to be an abject failure in Tuscaloosa.

What am I missing here?

Continuing on the same note, a lot of fans are talking about Kiffin's time with the Raiders. Based on that, these same LSU fans are using this as their second point in their argument about how well Kiffin will do with the Tide.

Yet, when Cameron was the head coach of the Dolphins their record was 1-15. But, he was the best hire of the 2013 season.

What am I missing here?

Hey those are some good points you make Terry. I hadn't thought of any of those situations from that perspective. Using your logic, which looks sound, one could argue that the Kiffin hire, base on that logic, certainly has success written all over it. Doesn't make it a guarantee but makes perfect sense along with sensible reasoning. Nice job.

The only consistent theme on message boards, recruiting rumors and pontification on coaching hires is inconsistency.

You can't draw a reasoned response from a series of poorly thought positions, other than to conclude they don't mean squat.

TerryP. I am not sure you are missing anything, in fact, you brought out excellent points with every situation you mentioned. The only thing I can come up with (and it's really weak) is we, the fans, are very fickle and just about always look on the negative side of things. It appears Missiouri is on to something... Show Me!

The fans...

Ours- Our Expectations are over the top, we expect to win everything every year. When we lose 2 games, the roof has caved in. It is what Alabama fans expect after winning 3 BCS national Championships. We are fickle, we do not look at the whole picture, it is what have you done for me lately.

Theirs- They hate us, most are sick of hearing anything SEC or Alabama. When LSU hired Chavez I thought he was washed up, but he still has some gas in his tank. Kiffin is hated in the SEC and I don't particularly like him either, but his OC skill set is proven, Its all in the eye of the beholder.

You nailed it, any other post after this will just be repeating the same sentiment
