šŸˆ Here is a ridiculous projection for the preseason AP Poll

My plan is to attend that game. Even though I have been to the Dallas area twice in recent years, once staying in Richardson, once in some small community just north of Ft Worth, may hit you up for some recs on new places to eat.

If I'm not deployed, I plan to go.

Is it bad I'm more excited about this match-up than I was the NCG?

I don't mean to imply that I wasn't excited for a title game or that I wasn't nervous as a fan about Clemson and Watson. But... it's the first Bama - USC game since I was 6, and I can't honestly recall catching the Aloha Bowl that year.

My only wish every birthday is to see more SEC and Pac12 match ups and bowl tie ins. And, it doesn't get much better than USC and Bama.

Sadly, I will be staying home for the USC matchup. We made the trip in '12, made reservations for Dallas for the Natty after the '14 season( lost to Ohio State), tried and failed to cancel reservations so we had them moved to the Wisconsin game this past season.

Hold on a minute! We won the Natty those two years!! Gonna have to explain to the wife that we MUST GO THIS FALL AS WELL!!!

I remember that Aloha Bowl game.

Nice to remember what a great QB Shula was. He brought us back in hopeless situations more than once. Also, it was cool having his dad Don going to Bama games wearing crimson.

This link has a good season summary for '85 along with the full game:

A young guy named Bobby Humphrey racked up the first back to back 100 yard games as a freshman.

So let me get this straight. #2 Bama wins a championship against #1 Clemson. Bama falls down to .. #7? Meanwhile #4 Ohio State wins the 2014 championship and starts off the 2015 season preseason ranking .. at #1? And sits there, against a pansy ass schedule, for a majority of the 2015 season?

Is this an "Onion" article?

My wife told me that her brother has two of his girls living close to Dallas. She said, you could stay with one of them. I told her I would rather stay in a crack house, it would be a safety place than those two girl's houses.
