🏈 Helmet Transmiters

I don't think the NCAA allows them in college football. The NFL uses them and I believe the coach has 25 seconds to call in the play because the radio shuts off for the last 15 seconds of the play clock.

Does this have anything to do with the FSU player? I got it on FB but I can't copy and bring here. But it show a coach I think getting it out from his back of his jersay.

That is exactly what i'm talking about, Rick. I couldn't copy it either. Thanks for posting the video, Rock. It just looks very suspicious how quick that guy pulls it out of his jersey. Almost kind of like a passerby drug deal.

How quickly he pulls the GPS out and hides it...Yeah. No, I don't think they are allowed during the game. I have no idea why that's a rule, but if it is a rule, one would have to wonder...again...about F$U skirting this issue.

With the right software to use the data, and assuming GPS/position data is available, yes there are benefits. Maybe not with just one player wearing it but if the team was wearing it you could conceivably have software to analyze what is going on to make more immediate position coaching available. Basically it would be almost like watching the film of the game while it was going on and adjusting in real time as opposed to after the fact. You could also conceivably make some determinations about where the other team was as far as the line is concerned (since impact, direction, and velocity data could tell you what was impacting a player at a particular moment) and adjust for blocking/rush schemes.
