💬 Headwear- Old Logo, Big Al through block A, found a store with good selection, etc.

It may have been getting slammed or came right up due to cache. Don't know.

I saw this tweet, Lance.

That sticker is 47brand.com merch. Site search for Alabama and ...

Going off his Tweet, I agree. It's one of the best logos, maybe for nastalgia reasons as all old things come back to those when they grow up. I look for this logo everywhere on Nike products and finally came across two tshirts on eBay that I snagged, used, but gotta do what you gotta do.

Before I went to Alabama I was always after the four legged Uga logo and could omly find it on a Vineyard Vines shirt. Searched for years. Now they have it everywhere.

I love the running elephant logo, very bottom of your pic Terry, from the sixties, may have been around earlier. I have a set of glasses from the 1961 championship that has that elephant crashing into our bowl records.

I really loved the pachyderm through the A when it made its debut. Had it on most everything I owned at the time. I can say, opponents could see it coming from a distance. Then I started seeing this eagle flying through their A and Arkansas had a pig running through their A and soon I started to see all kinds of varmints running through and around other letters of the alphabet. Over time, it got to be too much of the same. Brings back a lot of memories but I was kinda happy to get into the scripted A era and have always liked having BAMA or ALABAMA written on a few of my hats.

every year, i buy a new gameday hat and shirt. they only get worn on saturdays during the season. after the season, they go into normal rotation. a couple weeks ago, i found the ones i want for this year.....

Some of the others used many years ago...the little baby faced elephant was really popular.....
I would bet.....that once the license product requirement hit in.... some of these went bye-bye
And....really don't remember much on shirts and hats that said much more thenAlabama CT

You've got some cool stuff, man. You looking to sell any of it? Would love some stuff for my son's room. Hell, my oldest daughter is a huge Alabama fan at seven years old. I even had to buy her her own Alabama receiver gloves.

The '64 glass has the coaches' images on the backside, right? I have one of those. I really like the rocks glass with the charging elephant from 1961. I just rounded several more of those. Coach Bryant's first NC, and it has Bama's entire bowl history (up that point) on the glass with "No. 1 in '61" on it. Like these.

Yes, indeed. I found the first one in an antique mall around LaGrange six or eight years ago, sitting back behind some other things, for three bucks. I just found five more for $10 each. I normally walk past the booths with tons of glassware, but sometimes it's worth looking through them.

I have a couple of ashtrays showing the season schedule and prior year results from 67-68, from Bear Bryant Volkswagen. Same type of construction as the glasses, clear glass with red and white paint.

I don't really try and collect Bama memorabilia, but I do like the glassware. My grandfather was the transportation manager for Mercury Express, the distribution arm for the Birmingham News, in the 70's so I still have a couple of the color photos of the NC teams that were thumbtacked to my walls as a kid. I have the same coke bottles everyone else has from 70's, and some older football cards, and that's largely it.

I do have an Alabama stained glass pool lamp that I bought used and put in the basement of our lakehouse. When we sold the lakehouse, we took it out planning to put in our retirement home. The home plans really didn't call for good spot for a pool table, so I'll be selling it if anyone is interested.

Yeah, we built a lakehouse with a 10 year window to enjoy it and decide if we wanted to retire on the lake. My wife decided after four that she was good retiring there, so let's go build a bigger house. Closed on the old place June 29th of last year, and closed on a lot the next day. Plans took months longer than I would ever have thought, then I got into summer vacation season to get take-offs and quotes. I got the dock built and the shoreline work complete, hopefully we'll break ground on the house by early September, get it in the black by early November and we'll be good. My lake photos appear to be adopted by other posters, my current photo is the view from the current lot.

If I have time to kill after meetings, I'll hit an antique mall. I've been to a good number in AL, GA, NC and SC. The one at the Leeds/Moody exit is right in my sweet spot, more vintage/old stuff and not as much furniture. The one at the Valley exit on 85 used to be pretty good. I enjoy looking for things that interest me, but every trip is nostalgic because you see things you either used to have as a kid or they remind you of something/someone from days gone by.

Tim
