To each his own with their opinion, right? I don't see clear evidence any side of this discussion is wrong.
However, risking repeating myself:
Does anyone see the "cart before the horse" here?
Here's the three new looks Adidas introduces for Miss. State.
And then, after the fact, "Oh, by the way, the pink is for..."
From a different point of view...
How many are you are familiar with the adage, "know you audience?"
Power of Pink does really well with women's sports. It's a great fund-raising effort we've had in Tuscaloosa for years now. So far, I've seen nothing that tells me this is a concerted effort to support those fund-raising efforts.
IF SO, they have my support despite an awful choice.
(Slightly off topic: Am I the only one who thinks these jersey's look like their maroon color but they happened to run into a wash cycle filled with bleach?)
My only qualm was with making it into a political thing somehow.
Planomateo is absolutely right, though: we certainly gave Mississippi State what they wanted, a talking point! Whether you agree with it or not, they can do whatever they want, and if by some chance it may 'raise awareness' or make themselves feel better about something, go for it. It's an experiment, that's for sure. And whatever color they wear, all that matters is how they play on the field.
I actually thought the same thing re: the jersey colors .. When I think "pink", I don't think of that shade. It looks like a college freshman's first attempt at mixing colors ..
Besides pink, what is the most OUT THERE jersey color(s) you have ever seen? I once saw a hideous bright orange shade (downright neon) on some high schoolers in North Carolina once. My eyes nearly bled!
