| FTBL Hatcher for OC: conflicting reports from Bama outlets...

I just don't know what to think. Here, as in a lot of situations, there are two different sides to this story. I'll leave the "sources/friends" out of this thought and just focus on who is putting their word out there and what comes of it.

The Rivals site for Alabama insists after a conversation with Hatcher over the weekend that there is no way, no how, he's considering the job...hasn't been contacted as has no interest.

Weigh that against what the Scout site is saying...through their reports he's been offered, they've gone as far as stating he was supposed to be on campus to interview (I question that last bit considering the date and time until NSD.)

Normally, one can take all the stories and literally discern the truth. I can't say I've seen two stories so diametrically opposed to one another with this search.

I've got my suspicions...but, like recruiting, I think I'll enjoy my seat here and watch who ends up with egg on their face.

The one point of all of this that bears consideration because of its impact is "Ga. Southern and NSD." (is that two points?)

I just dont see why a head coach even if it is at a small school would want to give being the head coach to be an OC. I just dont think we will get him.

because in most cases it would get your foot in the door to big time football. i would think that going from d-1aa head coach(or what ever they are), to being an OC in the SEC would be the proper and logical steps in moving you're coaching career forward. not knowing his age (just to lazy to look it up) he might want to stay put, because he looked to be getting up there in age if i remember correctly.

Just because he's losing his hair doesn't mean he's getting up there in age. He's only around 35. He is an excellent coach and I think we would be looking at him as our Jimbo Fisher at FSU kind of head coach is waiting. That would make this an excellent opportunity for him.

He's at Georgia Southern and this is Alabama! If he has any ego whatsoever he'll take it.

Also OC at Bama pays about twice the money , that a Head Coach at Ga Southern would make

Money shouldnt be the only reason you coach football... Maybe it is just me.

Dont get me wrong I love alabama football and would be happy to leave any job to be at Bama.

With the exception of a short stint at Kentucky, he's all south Georgia. This could give us a recruiting inroad to aubrun's home territory.

I did not take his post about money the way you did. I think he was more saying that the money was also a factor not the factor.

Tennessee just got Richmond's HC as their new OC. Richmond was a better 1AA team than Georgia Southern.

The unlimited supply of Krispy Kremes in the coaches offices was a perk that was too hard to pass up...

i actually attend georgia southern and would love to see him head to tuscaloosa, but i don't really see it happening. i also think that i heard somewhere that hes never been an assistant, always a head coach. idk if thats true or not.

Yeah he was a student assistant at Valdosta. Then the QB/TE coach at UCF. After that he was a GA at Kentucky and later the QB/WR(?) coach.
