It seems like pretty much every day in Alabama is iced tea day, but Wednesday is officially National Iced Tea Day 2015. That means free and discounted iced tea is on the menu at a number of shops across the state and nation.
Iced tea – particularly sugary sweet tea – is one of the most popular beverages in the Southeast, up there with beer and coffee. Sipping a glass of sweet tea on the front porch as a lazy summer day goes by is a summer tradition, and as the thermometer has passed 90 degrees in recent days, it's one that might as well begin a little early.
Here's a list of some of the best places in the state and nationwide to pick up a cup of iced tea or sweet tea for free or on a discount on Wednesday.
Famous Dave's restaurants are giving away free iced tea Wednesday, according to its website: "Celebrate Summer and National Iced Tea Day with Famous Dave's. National Iced Tea Day is June 10th! Stop in and celebrate with a Free Iced Tea or Sweet Tea with any meal purchase. At participating locations. Offer can be found here"
Milo's is running a social media promotion to give away free iced tea. On Monday, it tweeted Wednesday: "Celebrate National Iced Tea Day with Milo's! Retweet to enter to win FREE MILO'S TEA! #DrinkMilos #Nationalicedteaday"
Dunkin' Donuts is selling any size of any of its iced tea beverages for $0.99 via its mobile app for the rest of the month. You can take advantage of the deal at this link.
It's not just eateries and drink slingers who are giving away iced tea in celebration of National Iced Tea Day 2015. Snapple is offering coupons entitling users to one free bottle of the popular drink from Walmart at this link.
Birmingham residents can visit Revelator Coffee at 1826 3rd Avenue North, Unit 101 to get free iced tea on Wednesday, according to a statement by the company: "Revelator Coffee Company Celebrates National Iced Tea Day - On Wednesday, June 10th - Revelator Coffee Company is celebrating National Iced Tea Day by offering its guests FREE Iced Tea between 10am to 2pm and $2 Iced Tea all day!"
