In fairness, I think they always bus back from UGA. Sorta like Bama usually busses back from Ole Miss and to/from MSU and auburn.

I was trying to figure that out too. Even if they went up to Greenville, through Atlanta, and down through Columbus to get there (way out of the way) it is still only a little over 6 hours. And that route would be stupid.

Bus vs plane...... i wonder how efficient it is on some plane trips.....
Gotta load up in bus.....hour + to Birmingham airport.... unload. .....load on plane...
Get situated....fly to ???????..... unload on plane...load on buses....

seems....easier to load on stretch buses ( extra leg room)...and bus 4 hours to BR....AU... ole ms....even Knoxville ( and going day before anyway)
..maybe longer trips......is great ....ky, USCe....texas AnM...

Which makes this all even worse. Were it 6 1/2 hours in real time, then the actual Google Maps time would be 7 1/2 or 8. They either had to avoid the entire state of Georgia or go Columbia-Savannah-Atlanta-Macon-Columbus-Auburn to make it take that long.

I had read this was merely about optics. Another round of layoffs in the athletic department are coming and the administration is trying to get out in front and show even the football team is making sacrifices. Take it for what it’s worth...
