🏈 Good to see @ohthatsNajee22 back in T-Town for a bit.

NFL players practices with team
As I recall the main issue at SMU was the slush fund (and in turn free rent, cars, etc.) I don't remember anything about NFL players "practicing" with the team.

That said ...

A few years ago Bama had a former QB come in and practice with the team in playoff preparations. I want to say it was a guy playing Deshaun Watson's role (and this morning I can't recall who it was.) People said, "NCAA violation" when there wasn't one.

Secondly, these guys are working out. They aren't practicing. It's well within the rules for them to return to their Alma Mater for workouts. You don't find it with every team (another unique trait of Bama alum in the league.)

When Julio was injured and in rehab he came back to Tuscaloosa because the facilities were better in Tuscaloosa than in Atlanta.

These guys often work out in the summer when the team is running voluntary workouts. Saban reference this a few weeks ago when talking about a younger receiver getting upset because he dropped a ball. He was told, by a veteran in the league, "that's not how we do things here."

@RollllTide!

smu...was given DP because they kept paying players while they were being investigated for paying players........believe it was govenor elect was involved somehow...as president of smu......
Pretty stupid stuff...

On the former player in practice stuff, there have been several... Blake (as mentioned), JPW, Trent Richardson, etc. They were on scout teams on certain weeks or days. Of course, other schools complained, and a rule was passed that banned it. But, lots of active NFL players still come back and train here in the summer, off and on.

"Staring down the-barrel of a gun"
Is what they told bama....and ....according to some." The DP was on the table...
...was bad times for us.....

was a bad time....as was the Saturday Evening Post mag about Bear and UGA HC Butts conspiring to fix a bama-uga game....( havethe SEP mag if anyone ever wants to see article)

I knew there was a resolution coming but didn't know it had passed yet.

I'd like to know the true number of players that come in during the year. 75% I'd think...of what, 79ish including opt outs/practice squads.
