Hello RollTideBama! Greetings for Bruin land! Next to the Bruins, Alabama is my second favorite team. When I was a young lad I watched the 1973 Sugar Bowl and I thought Alabama's uniforms were neat. I also liked watching Coach Bryant walk along the side lines. I was sold! Been a fan since!
Stopped by to see how things are going these days and fill you in on the Bruins. It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since UCLA and Alabama played at Bryant-Denny. I was there with my dad plus the the game before at the Rose Bowl. We had a great time in T-Town and can't wait to come back! (Please get us back on the schedule; we'll be there in force!)
I see you've already started practice. We get going tomorrow. While Alabama's fortunes have turned since those games against my Bruins, UCLA's haven't. UCLA has become irrelevant on the college football radar and it sucks. Every time the Bruins have had a chance to step up after a big win, they've stumbled and bumbled backwards. Basically since Cade McNown graduated, we've had one season of decent QB play (2005). That doesn't cut in football especially in the Pac10 now Pac12. We're not sure what's going to happen this season. While UCLA has decent depth at every position, questions remain at QB and OL, the two most important positions. While Coach Neu wasn't my first choice, he's passionate about UCLA and is doing everything he can to make the Bruins a winner. This year he has to get it done; no more $%^&ing blowouts and ineptness. He also has to beat sc. My gut is telling me we're going to have a breakout season but I'll believe it when I see it. At least right now, we're undefeated and I can keep by Blue and Gold colored glasses on!
As for The Crimson Tide, I'm picking them to be in the thick of things. Lots of returning starters on defense plus Trent Richardson running the ball. As long as the QB can manage and lead the team, the sky's the limit. It's always a tough schedule in the SEC but at the very least, the team will be ready to play every game. That's due to Coach Saban!
Anyway, here's to good times this fall. Kickoffs are less than a month away. Next thing you know it will be Christmas! Here's to both squads kicking some ass and lots of fun for the fans!
GO BRUINS! ROLL TIDE!
