@UAgrad93,

No more forgotten than the seasons from LSU, UT, and Auburn that year. LSU was ranked and fell out, UT ended up the highest ranked in the SEC tieing UA and AU for the SEC title that season.

I don't think the Vols will be celebrating their 30th anniversary this season. @UAgrad93 what was the conference record that season? Was it a six win year? 6-1 is what I'm thinking ...

Only loss was the game at the Barn regular season. 6-1 was the conference record. We were #2 headed to the Barn and ended up 9th after the Sugar Bowl loss to finish 10-2.

@UAgrad93, I seem to recall Curry as old school and hard nosed but fair to you guys. Is that about right?

He was indeed old school! He played for Lombardi. I liked him. Being a walk on, he didn't have anything invested in me, so he wasn't really personable to me. Coach Jim Fuller, the OL coach was the one that recruited me and the one I had the closest relationship to and then it was Coach Homer Smith, the OC/QB coach and Walter Lewis, who was RB coach.
When Coach Stallings arrived the next year, you got another old school guy, but he wanted to know everything about everybody in his building and under his watch. He knew my entire family and where i went to school and which coach recruited me, everything!!! I loved Coach Stallings!!!!

I'd be disappointed if we didn't invite Coach Curry. That would be a lack of class not to invite him. He'll be invited, I don't know if he'll come ......

@UAgrad93, I worked with Coach Fuller's brother in law and actually met Coach Fuller a couple of times. He was a good guy it seemed to me.

I received an email about this Saturday and it had a list of those confirmed that will be in attendance. Coach Curry is on the list.

Not much intrigue in this one... NMSU is really, really bad. So I'm trying to think about stuff that I'll be interested to watch.

-ILB's - That will be the story all season
-Backup WR's (Especially Mechie)
-Young DL's / OLBs - Any pass rush?
-Mac Jooooooones
