They arrested him and put him in jail on FELONY charges that were false.... THAT is pretty sad. I know there are a lot of laws and police can't be expected to know them all, but concealed firearms laws should be known by ALL police.

Gee, I wonder how much publicity this will get? Guess it would be to much to ask of TMZ to be rushing to get this story out, they're only interested in destroying lives. All they are is trash.

Wow. A police officer didn't know something that clear?

Maybe the laws are different in Florida--why would they tow his car for lack of insurance and registration? Isn't that a ticketable offense?

And BamaCore--you're right about TMZ. Redacting their previous comments wouldn't draw attention, continuing to slam people will draw attention, however. Did you ever hear them say anything about their statements in re: Mark Ingram? They damn sure posted a picture of him at the party, even commented on the jewelry and watch he was wearing. TMZ exists to mess with people, nothing more.

Very very true. I really don't understand how these people can wake up and look at themselves in a mirror.

Agreed that all police should know the laws regarding firearms, but they aren't the only people who are sometimes in the dark. Very few people, law enforcement or civilian, actually know the law when it comes to firearms. Conceal or open carry.

Duder, in N.W. Fla. piticualerly that area around FWB they will tow you for no ins.
As for the cops there. Last year, '09...the sherifs dept. broke the door down on my GF's condo
drug my 14 year old god son out of bed cuffed him and ruffed him up good.
She wasn't even dressed. there was 20 of them. it was 6 in the morning on a sunday.
both of them were in bed. They thought he was grown. being 14 & 6-6 240....he easily get's mistaken as an adult @ 15 now.
They had a warrent. they had the right Condo. they had the right apt. #. but they HAD THEY WRONG BUIDLING!!!!
after they busted in and roughed them up. with her robe flying open the whole time. it took them amlost an hour to realize the F-ed up big time.
was a nightmare situation. And....guess what they did. They ran them and arrested HER...for a bounced check that her EX WROTE 5 YEARS AGO.
So Okaloosa Co. don't play at all. This girl has never even had a parking ticket. she's so clean she make a nun look crooked.
Police are no longer the same as they were in the 1950's. no thier all para miltary and it's them vs the world. and they keep than mentality.

Cases in point:

Woman beaten by police in Louisana.

EMT assulted by OK State Trooper with a paitaint in ambulance.

Damn bro. Please tell me she found an attorney and filed suit, they settled and she now lives in a much nicer condo.

fear
+ politicians promising to 'fix the problem' with more cops
+ corruption
+ naive voters
+ false sense of security
+ new crap laws enacted (in addition to existing laws which already weren't being enforced)
+ confusion
+ badge
+ gun
+ idiot

aaaarrrrrrgh!!

first, sorry about that situation. what about the cops down in Houston that shot the son at his parents house - his dad played professional baseball and he was on his way to playing professional ball. there was a story on this on Real Sports....cops getting the wrong info and ruining peoples lives and getting off clean.

now your point is a bit off, cause we haven't seen any video of police doing anything improper 50 years ago in the deep south :) - there have always been bad people (cops, thugs, you name it that take things too far)...it's not something that just started all the sudden.

I know there are some LE's on this board and I respect them for their job, I would never want that job, but I can say that I have been around my fair share of cops that push them limit on some boundaries. I'm not sure I would handle them breaking into my house very well, I would be mad as hell and would probably get shot. its a shame that when the shoe is on the other foot, people understand what some of the other people living in bad areas have experienced for years in terms of dealing with some cops.

I don't think all cops are the same, but there certainly are some that go to far...just like other jobs, except they have a badge/gun that gives them more authority.

Unfroutanlty no. i tried to get her to. but she just wanted to leave it alone.
She's now terified of them so.....
They came home to montgomery for about 6 months. But kido wasn't happy & wanted to be back down there.
Soon as his butt graduates....they're on the 1st thing smoking back to montgomery.

Being that i wans't around in the 50's...i guess i just have the Mayberry RFD type cops in mind. I wasn't even thinking about the Jim Crow stuff.
And i have 2 cousins, one was Charles Swindal Montgomery Chief of Police for 20+ years & Chief Henderson who was Chief Deputy in Elmore Co.
for well over 30 years in my family. I have a buddy of mine now that's an investigator @ a co. sheriff's office in Al now. So i'm pretty familier with the "good cops".
There' just more bad ones than i ever thought, and it's gotten to the point now that i can't stand them. I know thier doing a job, but thier attitude twords the general
public which they are suposed to seve and protect.......boarders on a gang mentality.
