What do you guys think about Coach Saban using Star in the redzone? He could use his speed for boot legs or fake the hand off and roll out and keep it instead of passing. Remember auburn used Burns like this when he first got there. So did florida with tebow. Just a thought but it could be a way to use him and get his feet wet. What do you guys think?

I don't like disrupting the tempo of the offense in situations like that. If we had a "wildcat" type package for someone like Arena's to run, then maybe a play here and there would be ok... but with the weapons we have at WR & TE, and our smash-mouth "we're gonna run it off tackle behind an H-Back and you can't do a damn thing about it" style, I just don't see any reason to handcuff ourself once we get into the redzone.

:a: I thought we were going to more no huddle this year?

It will be interesting to see the Offense in the second year under MclWain and seeing other receivers besides Julio catch it also the difference between JPW and Mclroy

I agree with a little bit of what everyone is saying. I agree that we need to keep playing that "smash mouth football" to get into the redzone or into scoring position. Once into scoring position we could try something different because the defense would be looking for our "smash mouth" approach.

That was the beauty of what we had last year. They knew it was coming, we didn't try to hide it. JPW could have walked to the line and said, "Coffee off left tackle on 2", and we would have still picked up 6 yards. I think it is going to take a few games for this new O-Line to gel some, but they will, and much of the same will continue this season.

I wouldn't mind a package or two here and there were Star comes in and runs a Wild Kat type of thing, but not really in the redzone. I say just give it to Ingram in the redzone and if ur gonna pass it we got a cpl of 6'4" receivers and 6'6" TE to go too.

I agree with Porter for the most part on this one. Why should we change our style and risk disrupting the tempo. At the same time, I recall CNS talking about how Star has been progressing with managing the game and the offense and that his passing needs the polishing, whereas Darrah has a good handle on the passing aspect and that he may need to have something for them for what they do best. This could be interpreted that Star may have a package in certain situations or it could just be coach speak.
