šŸ’¬ Georgia Will Be The New Alabama—Eight reasons from SBNation's UGA writers

Alright. Alright. Alright. A new era of Georgia football is upon us. No we aren’t dreaming, the Mark Richt era has actually concluded, and the Kirby Smart reign has begun! Moves have been made and coaches have been paid. Kirby has changed the game so-to-speak and appears to be making all the right moves. That deteriorated and corroded Lamborghini, that was maxing out at 70 MPH (otherwise known as Georgia Football), has finally been restored. And boy does it have some nice, new, shiny parts. Those supped up pick-up trucks and mini-vans (LSU, Auburn, Clemson, FSU, etc.) are about to not only get passed, but left in the dust. Finally, Georgia faithful, it is not a question of if, but a matter of when. That long desired national championship trophy is on its way back to Athens, where it belongs. Kirby Smart is making moves and in just six months he is already changing the game. So, here are 8 reasons why Georgia is about to start raking in national championships and become the new Alabama.

And the old Alabama will keep whoopin that ass. :tank:

The guy might be college age or just out, and writes like he thinks - cluelessly! So, basically, Kirby hired an all star staff and should be able to out-coach and out recruit Saban. Guess we'd better just hang it up and watch Georgia from the sidelines.....

At first I thought it was a serious article, then I knew that it would be impossible for someone to be that damn blind.

I've not paid a great deal of attention to the way SBNation handles its content, but I believe that fans can post (fanposts) on their message section and whomever handles the actually page has the ability to move that post/thread to front page content. That's not unusual for any software package.

Looking over the authors profile, I see nothing that makes me believe he isn't serious. Naive? Blind fanaticism? Those fit. Satire? Nope. Just don't see that.

Rumor has it that Kirby took a play out of the Alabama playbook, and invited the whole Clarke-County police department to an open practice and meet-and-greet this spring. Well, I’ve got a funny feeling that Georgia’s off the field issues will soon be a thing of the past.

Yet, from the same page as this write-up we see UGA talking about how Ignont now has UGA high on his list.

From what's being told, Ignont didn't "withdraw his silent commitment." There were some red flags that popped up after the staff was doing research on Will which led to him having to take a test on his last visit. A test that doesn't include pen, pencil, paper, or any kind of PC type device. He didn't pass.

It's now IgNOT with UA.

so uga gets a new coach, granted he's a damn good defensive coach that worked for one of the best ever, and they're the next dynasty?

is this like last year when we lost a game and our run was over?

don't get me wrong, i like Kirby Smart. he did a lot of great things for us and was deserving of a head coaching position. but he's yet to do anything other than coach a spring game.

you can recruit all the talent in the world, but that doesn't matter if nothing comes to fruition from that talent. i don't want to say he's going to fail. i don't think he will, and i hope he has great success (obviously except when they play 'BAMA). but he has yet to coach an actual game and they're already thinking he's going to win them several national championships.

if i'm not mistaken, weren't they saying the same things about Mark Richt?

After finishing that masterpiece, I could imagine him finishing the evening with a rousing chorus of "Hail Georgia." Get in his bulldog jammies and slumber off to that special place only the clinically optimistic can envision. Sweet dreams.

So do recruits often take THAT KIND OF TEST?? This is something I didn't think would be allowed by some random rule regarding minors or the NCAA.

It's the first time I've heard of such a thing happening. I doubted its veracity until I heard the same story from two people not associated with Bama but fairly involved with some of the schools who are recruiting him.
