Being reported that the former Dawg is going to try his hand with broadcasting on the CBS sports network. I just hope he doesn't tick off his audience the same way he obviously affected defensive linemen.

The Dial hit is just old school football. Gotta keep your head on a swivel, especially on an interception. But the Fairley hit was beyond the game of football where he tried to cheapshot the guy and literally hurt him. I'm very surprised his own linemen weren't jumping Fairley's fat ass and kicking the shit out of him after that dirty hit.

both were un called for but the Dial hit was more in the play as the QB was running toward a possible tackle. Dial's hit looks even worse because he was very tall trying to hit someone who was shorter. You can see him try to use his shoulder and his head gets involved. In today's rules, Dial would be ejected and the Boog cheap shot artist would maybe get a penalty.

I personally think both were cheap shots...and uncalled for...technically Dials was legal....Faireys not...
I remember the hit Fairely put on Greg in iron bowl.....took him out...bad

Football in itself are a bunch of cheap shots. Every push, shove, headbutt, hold, and pull are cheap shots. technically only the tackles aren't. I was a defensive guy, so any time we could hit the sissy offense we did, and if you ever got a shot on a quarterback you took it, as long as it wasn't malicious. When there is a turnover, you find a head from the other team and go after it and account for your guy not making the tackle on a return. Hope you don't consider crack back blocks by a receiver on an inside corner/safety/linebacker is considered good football if you think Dial's hit was a cheap shot.

Sissy offense? I had to play both ways so I'm conflicted a little. However, I've always been a firm believer that it's much better to hit than be hit.

You don't think defensive players think they're tougher and better than offensive players? You're put on defense because you will stick somebody and have an attitude. Come on man, everyone knows that.

Oh absolutely. But as a running back I got hit all the time and as an OLB................................................... I got even.

Running backs were some of the hardest hitters I came across to be honest. Maybe it's the running start, leverage, and knowing where they were going and when they were going to lay the blow, but they'll pop you.

We mostly ran out of the I-formation and our fullback was an all-state human cannonball type. When he hit the LOS, I saw a lot of defensive players making wise business decisions.

Good luck to him... Can't be any worse than McElroy

Greg's problem is he prepares so well he talks too much. David Pollack is almost on par with Beth Mowins, good people no doubt but terrible announcers. Maybe Murray will improve the former Georgia players rating as an announcer. He can't be any worse than Pollack, if you don't mind me borrowing your phrase.
