| FTBL Georgia already running their mouths

A couple of thoughts here...

  • Thinking back over Saban's coaching stops in the NCAA I can't think of one instance where he's used "bulletin board" material to motivate his players. He approaches games in a very businesslike manner and he expects his team to do the same. I suspect, the only people this will have an affect on is fans that read it.
  • The Clemson game caught the eye of SEC fans, writers, voters and I'm sure coaches around this league and the NCAA
  • In interviews before the Clemson game most on the side of the orange thought Bama couldn't finish. They had reasons why they thought that and hey were understandable.

This article reflects the same attitude. And, for the same reasons, I understand why.
  • It is amusing to me to see the phrase "they won't be around for long" in reference to the Tide considering over the last quarter of a century Georgia has had their bright spots, but hasn't proven they could be around for long. See their ranking at #1 for 1 week as one example. We could go into SECC's, but that would just be redundant.
  • Today, I still don't expect to see Bama come out of Athens with a win. But, today as compared with Thursday of last week, I like our chances much, much better.
  • Last, but not least, don't give this article much play. Why? Whoever wrote it didn't have the gonads to put his name with the article. That speaks volumes.

I dont believe he typically does either, but you know, if people keep writing stuff like that someone wil pick it up and spread it around the team eventually.

That guy does have a reason for thinking how he's thinking. In 2005 after getting high in the polls we laid down. Last year after whipping the Beacon on the Hill we decided not to finish. But, I hate to tell him, but UGA isn't as great as they'd like to think. GA Southern put 21 points on them, UGA is beatable and I think we'll make their fans sweat and curse when we play them.

This is my response to the jerks at the Lagrange paper.

" Yes this is one game. Saban said as much. WE are aware that you have to show up every Saturday and play to the whistle. We are also aware that the Bamanation loves their Tide and sometimes see's things through Crimson colored glasses. That being said let me say this. This is NOT the Dubose era, this is not the Franchione era, this is not the Shula era or the 15 minute coach before him. This is a new era, the Saban era. An era of doing things the right way.An era of getting the top recruits, the best recruits to build one of the best
programs. Bama is on it's way back to the top and our friends to the north, south, east and west do not like what they are seeing. The game in Atlanta and the game next year in Atlanta lays the
ground work for getting Georgia's top talent in Tuscaloosa wearing the Crimson and White. Say what you will and think what you want but here's the fact. Bama is out recruiting and taking new ground and there's nothing you can do about it.

Amen brother tell it like it is.

It's rather interesting to me that a columnist in Lagrange, Georgia would be writing stuff like this when the team in his state- the Dawgs, are projected to be in the national championship. He uses the words, "don't worry" and don't be fooled" several times referring to a possible resurgent Alabama football team. It sounds like he is scared half silly of the date we have in Athens this year. Anybody that's been around football for a while knows why Alabama hasn't been able to finish lately. There's no use in trying to explain it anymore. I am with Terry P, if there ever was any SEC team that could not finish a season in the past ten years and was expected to, its Georgia. Roll Tide and I hope they have a remedy for Terrance Cody...they are gonna need it.

I personally like the fuel our opponents give us before the game. Blow it up and post it in the locker room. Maybe we will get lucky and a coach will open his pie-hole too. Seemed to work well for Clemson. Fire away...piss our team off. I'm sure Richt appreciates the columnist from sh!tville, ga getting us ready to stomp them into a grease spot @ The Bushes.

Dude might be an Auburn fan. There are quite a few of them in LaGrange.

Exactly! Sounds to me also more like a barner than a dawg.

It's tough to tell. There's a 98% identical genetic makeup between the two. aubrun lacks the "State's team" gene and has an extra "geographically challenged" gene. Reading the aubrun team roster to see where their recruits are from only confuses them more.

Both fan bases share the "If I yell loud enough, people will forget our dearth of national achievements" gene.

Not to sound like a posturing teenager, but they are scared! It's really as simple as that. you can't apply logic to illogical people.

I think you summed it up as well as anyone, sonny boy :D .

Sometimes the simplest explanation is the most likely. Fear causes people to overcompensate by getting overly vocal, loud, puffy, etc.

Obscure cultural reference:

Reminds me of that scene in the (great) movie Jeremiah Johnson where the Flathead Indian brave get's REALLY LOUD because he's afraid of the "great warrior who avenges the crazy woman in the wolf tail valley".

See starting at about the 3:25 mark of the following clip:

Georgia Running their mouths

All I have to say is I am part of the Dawg nation and I am married to a Bama fan and just to respond to the we are scared theory no we are not and when you all come to Athens on the 27th we will play a great football game and I believe we will win as far as the article that some reporter put in the LAgrange newspaper that is all his opinion and so with that said Georgia is ready for Bama in every aspect so Go Dawgs and I hope Bama has success in their games as well . God bless you all
