This thread will be for any information or thoughts you have on any recruit that doesnt necessary deserve its own thread. Its purpose will be to spark recruiting discussion while keeping the board from clogging up with too many random threads.

Damn, this class is filling up quick. Is it possible to get to far ahead in recruiting?

There are probably at least three and possibly 4 that we have asked to grey shirt if needed. My guess is Riley Cole, Quinnen Williams and our newest Shawn Jennings. Riley and Quinnen both have weight to gain and with a stacked roster at their position so no rush. Shawn has a brother already there and I bet he was already told he would grey shirt for numbers.

Over the years I have learned not to doubt our staff on how they manage numbers... it always works out.

Good read about T.J. Simmons:

How did Alabama land lifelong Auburn fan T.J. Simmons?

Don't underestimate the importance of the college football gameday experience. It can provide a recruiting edge, too.

That's the takeaway from Clay-Chalkville receiver and Alabama commitment T.J. Simmons' comments Tuesday during Jefferson-Shelby football media day. Simmons said he grew up an Auburn fan, but his allegiance began to change when he started attending games in Tuscaloosa a few years ago.

"I started going to games and seeing the atmosphere and the fans and things like that," Simmons said.

That's a big reason he committed to Alabama – and not Auburn – in February.

A 6-foot-2 receiver who is rated as a 4-star recruit and among the state's top prospects for the Class of 2016, Simmons also said other schools have largely stopped recruiting him since he committed to Alabama.

"I don't have to worry about that at all," he said.

Last year, he caught 43 passes for 965 yards and scored 20 touchdowns as Clay-Chalkville captured the 2014 AHSAA Class 6A title. Simmons delivered a momentum-stealing 79-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown against Saraland in the title game.

Even though six months remain before National Signing Day, Clay-Chalkville coach Jerry Hood said he doesn't expect Simmons to change his mind.

"T.J. just said, 'That's where I always wanted to be. I love the school. I've been there on campus for games, and I'm going to commit,'" Hood said. "And once he committed, we still stand by it that. That's your commitment. ... I think he's solid to Alabama."

Don't we get a couple of spots back though for some dismissals? Jones, Taylor, depending on Hill maybe one for him as well?

I don't remember how all that works, but pretty sure we get those back somehow.

@psychojoe, @TerryP and I were discussing numbers a few weeks ago on another thread and I believe he mentioned the number being 28. 28 or 29, either way, numbers are starting to get tight.
In the end, I think we will finish with OT Little, OLB Wilson, ILB Davis, WR Salomon, WR Jones, WR Ridley, TE Eubanks, OG Merritt, and a possible flip.

We will likely lose a commit or two as well though, it happens, and the numbers always work out.

I believe this team is littered plenty with talent to get us through a "down" recruiting year if that's what some want to call it (due to the 3* commits we've had) but I am glad to see some homestate guys get on-board.

We will still have a top 6 or 7 class, even if we break our stretch of what, like 6 #1 in a row?

LSU landed a commitment from the 247Sports Composite No. 1 overall prospect - Dylan Moses - early on in his recruitment process, but now the Baton Rouge native has decided to reopen his recruiting process.

Moses posted the following message on Twitter.

"After talking to my parents, I've decided to decommit from LSU," Moses said. "This was a very tough decision for me but I think it was the right one for me. Two years ago I decided I wanted to commit to LSU because it felt right. I felt like it was what I was expected to do.

"I have an awesome relationship with the staff. I love them because they treat me like family. My cousin (Corey Raymond) is on the coaching staff and I've built great relationships with Coach Miles and Coach Frank over the years. There's definitely LOVE there. Because of this, LSU is my No. 1.

The LSU fans are melting pretty hard. Its been entertaining to read a few pages of their posts. The mother was apparently pretty instrumental in helping her son reach this decision. It sounds like it is something he has wanted to do and the mother just let him know if he isnt committed its what he needs to do. LSU is prob still the school to beat but it sounds like Alabama can really get in there now and battle for him. If the mother is this open minded then it sounds like a good person for Saban to recruit. If the kids heart is truely elsewhere it would also be in his interest to transfer to IMG in Florida away from the crazy coon asses.
