Roll Tide, game was closer than it should have been

Yes, but everyone, including the committee, should see the last TD with 15 seconds left as too little, too late. The missed FG hurt my comfort over the last little bit, but being up over one score with State trying to conserve TOs while trying to get the ball down the field sealed the outcome. As long as the D didn't give up a quick strike, the sentiment was that we would win. Even though they gave up the last TD, the D did its job in that respect.

I agree, but what they should also see is Les Miles' type of clock mismanagement as well. Still State deserves to get in over OSU.

Initially, I was a bit perplexed by MSU's clock management during that final series, but we were keeping them in the middle of the field to keep the clock going. In terms of not calling timeouts, they were doing the right thing. Down two scores they needed to hold those TO's to use when we got the ball back if they would've had any chance to score a second time. Not giving up the quick strike big play on that last drive made the point moot, but I see less Miles in that drive than I initially did.

Tim
