It's happened more times than I can count. Literally, I could start naming games and we could continue this conversation throughout the day.
Here's the scenario: A significant game on a Saturday. In every spoken sentence a quarterback, highly heralded, has his name included with this phrase, "statement game."
At the end of the day of all the post-game talk about how that heralded quarterback won the game isn't being heard but there are a few limited glances at how consistent the other had been.
'member the hype Mallett had coming in to BDS in 2012?
More often than not, instead of us hearing about how great a game Driskell has had...this evening we'll be talking about Blake doing what he's been doing.
