TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ā Alabama head coach Nick Saban dispelled any worries of another injury at the linebacker position Wednesday as he updated the status of starting linebacker Jamey Mosley, who has been absent at practice the past two days.
āHeās ill. Heās just sick,ā Saban said. āWhen heās recovered heāll be back out there. He doesnāt have an injury, there nothing wrong with him. It happens on occasion, so hopefully heāll get well and maybe heāll be with us tomorrow.ā
Mosley has started the past three games at the Sam linebacker following season-ending injuries to Christian Miller (biceps) and Terrell Lewis (elbow) in Week 1. Mosley, a 6-foot-5, 248-pound former walk-on has recorded five tackles this season, including his first career sack against Fresno State in Week 2.
Alabama saw three linebackers return from injury last week against Vanderbilt as starters Rashaan Evans (groin) and Anfernee Jennings (ankle) as well as freshman Dylan Moses (concussion) all saw action during the Crimson Tideās 59-0 victory.
Jennings, who recorded two tackles and forced a fumble against Vanderbilt, said earlier this week that he is fully recovered from his injury. All three of the linebackers have been full participants during Alabamaās two practices this week.
āIt feels good. It feels great,ā Jennings said. āI had Jeremy (Gsell) and Jeff (Allen) and all those guys in the training room. They helped me get back to 100 percent in a short amount of time. I feel good.ā
Saban also commented on tight end Miller Forristall who suffered a torn ACL against Colorado State and will miss the remainder of the season. Forristall posted a picture of himself on Instagram last Friday following his surgery.
āMiller is a good player for us,ā Saban said. āHe really satisfied a really good niche because of his athleticism and his receiving ability, and weāll certainly miss him.ā
No. 1 Alabama will host Ole Miss on Saturday at 8 p.m. CT inside of Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
