I loved the way Saban looked at McCarron in the post game interview. Never seen him look at another player that way...they seem to have a special connection.

Congratulations to Saban and all his players. And I tip my cap to Les Miles and his young men in yellow and white. They played an OUTSTANDING game, including (gasp) Mettenberger.

This will go down in history as one of the all-time best Bama wins, and Bama-LSU games.

I guess the home field advantage really doesn't mean squat between the Tide and the Bengal Tigers.

Yes it was. But the defense was the biggest surprise to me. LSU converted ten out of twenty third downs (unlike Bama converting one out of nine). They let LSU get first down after first down after first down.....

And the tackling was PITIFUL.

Plus, the two Bama turnovers were pitiful. When Bama had momentum in the second half---for the first time---they got down inside the ten yard line and FUMBLED!!!!!!!!! How can you make such a poor play with the game on the line and a chance to seal the deal? LSU got the ball and marched it ninety yards for a TD. I thought that was the game. But I am glad the Tide proved me wrong.

I will say, earlier in the year, I saw lots of running plays where we looked very susceptible to a I-formation....Defensive line was very inconsistent.....I have never given up on a game before, but sadly today was my first...That drive when LSU missed the field goal in the end, when they converted those 2 3rd down conversions...I just said to my friends, they're going to run the clock out on us, we have no shot what-so-ever....Then once he missed that field goal, I felt something, knew we were going to win....All I can say is Roll Damn Tide, we're 9-0, we just beat LSU for the 2nd straight time this year, we beat them in Death Valley, overcame adversity, and won.....ROLL TIDE

You had a right to be negative, tough games like that are hard as hell to watch.. This board would be in flames though if we lost.. Oh well, past is past, we're 9-0, we always have to have this type of game on a championship season.. RTR!

For all the talk of how we didn't deserve it, I have to disagree. We came into their house and played our sloppiest game yet while they played their best possible game, with Mettenberger having the performance of his life (which he may never be able to duplicate..a la S. Garcia), and we still were able to pull it out. LSU didn't get any bad calls, didn't have a specific player to pin the blame on, etc.. and yes, they were out-coached for sure but a team's worthiness can't be determined apart from coaching...that's part of the team. I think we absolutely deserved it and I'm thrilled! And thrilled for AJ that he was able to get redemption there in the end for everything that went wrong earlier. It was cool to have his first post-game interaction with Saban caught on camera when they went to interview.

But I'll say that we've got a lot of work to do for TAMU and UGA, as we've definitely put it all out there to be analyzed.

LSU fans now know what it felt like to lose that game in BDS last year. The better team does not always win. Tonight LSU outplayed us for the majority of the game. But when It counted our guys dug deep, stared adversity right in its face and came out on top.

Next week will be a huge game. I hope our guys can heal up, grow from this hard fought win and finish their goals.
