🏈 G-Mac's Promise?

Did anybody catch his 'promise' he made after the game? I love G-Mac but it did kind of come off kinda forced to me like he felt he had to make the "Tebow promise" after it. Maybe I was still just so frustrated after the game... Maybe its just me. Here's to G-Mac living up to that promise regardless.

Yeah, I caught that and had the exact same reaction. Remember, he wants to go into politics so maybe he's just saying what he thinks people want to hear. I'm with you, though. I hope he delivers.

I guess I don't follow. So you think he was just making up the fact that he hated losing so much he never wanted to experience it again? That was forced? Are you thinking he really does want to lose again and was just faking it?

You guys are so ready to throw someone under a bus that you interpret someone's intent based on a sound bite? Wow! You guys are really so amazing and so impressive. His best Tebow impression was to lose yesterday, that's the only way he emulated him. I believe his words to be sincere. At least he didn't cry like a titty baby on camera.

That is exactly what I said yesterday. At least he wasn't on the sideline crying like a baby.

I don't think he was talking about the 'hate to lose' comment, and I certainly don't think anyone was throwing McElroy 'under the bus'. I think Birdman was talking about this excerpt from an interview:

"I haven't been playing real confidently. I haven't been stepping into my throws like I had been in weeks past. But we'll get it figured out. I promise. I promised my fans and promised the coaches and promised to the players that I will get it figured out and we will get it straightened out. .... I don't care if I spend every second and sleep in the football complex. I will do that to figure this thing out. I have all the confidence in the world in myself and my teammates that we can come back and dominate opponents, just like we did against Arkansas and against other teams."

Give the guy a break. How can any of come off and judge him for whether he is being sincere?! He has never been the screaming, yelling, crying Tebow-type. For GMac, his comments and the way they were delivered are just his style. He deserves the benefit of the doubt.

I think this game awakens the sleeping giant and we stop playing to try-not-to-lose and start playing to win-at-all-costs.

Now if we could just find someone on defense willing to step up and take a leadership role...

u know what my man? u can straight up kiss it. i have never once threw a player under the bus and i wasnt throwin my man G-Mac under the bus (other than Marquis Johnson back in '07 but i admitted i was wrong in that). maybe you skipped it or just ignored it but i CLEARLY said i love the guy. and i have no idea why ur getting so worked up. how did i say i didnt think he was upset over losing? of course he is! i said the promise (which isnt what AFF was talking about either) he made on the radio after the game. he said something along the lines "i make a promise to the fans, we will never come ill prepared like that again. i promise no one will work harder than us" stuff along that line. THAT felt forced. i have no doubt in my mind he HATES losing and that he never wants to feel that. so u can take all that crap trying to throw ME under the bus elsewhere.

how the hell did i judge him?! yall are acting like i called him out. i said it sounded forced, nothing else. and i even said i hope he keeps the promise and it could have been just me thinking that because i was still frustrated. jesus.

That's your quote above birdmman. Coming off "kinda forced" and "he felt he had to make a Tebow promise" is exactly what I was responding to you. So let me say it this way....

I love Birdman37 but his love for GMAC seemed forced and he loves grown men to "straight up kiss" parts of his anatomy . Oops! Did you think I threw you under the bus? Sorry Birdman. :lance:

One of the bad things about internet is that it allows ticked off, disappointed fans an opportunity to permanently record their temporary feelings for all to see and enjoy. All of this infighting and panicked analysis only builds a case that we have a flaky fan base that panics at the first sign of adversity.

Suck it up. None of us lifted a finger to win 19 games. Think of the players who did. Let's support them without eating our young, shall we?

RTR,

Tim

So true! BTW every time a player says he promises to do his best to get his team ready is not equal to a Tebow promise.
