Maybe because the only coach they'll find right now is a coach that isn't working. All the good coaches are focused on finishing their season.

Well...giving ungodly like contracts to overrated coaches ...see Taggart...I would keep my money in my pocket....

Why do you say that? As you know both really only became relevant maybe from the 80's on and then only for about a 20-25 year window. Similar to Florida and even the Barn. None are traditional blue bloods which in my view College football truly needs blue bloods to be successful.

Well, considering FSU was a women's college from 1905ish to 1947... I'd say the percentage of winning football for the program is pretty damn good. You may feel they are not a "blue blood" but really who cares about the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Football was surely not the same as it is now. FSU has a track record in the near past of being THE team. They can easily return to that platform with the proper money spent on the proper coaching. There is plenty of talent in the area and the college has beautiful and location is great.

During the Bobby Bowden/Jimbo Fisher years ( a 42 year span) they have a record of 399-120-4 (a .763 winning percentage)... that ain't shabby at all.

FSU needs to Target Norvell and Kiffin. I'm in Memphis so I hate to see Norvell leave. I think if the MSU job comes up they will go hard after Norvell.

I suspect ARK will try for Norvell also, but if he is smart I think he stays put another year with a great team returning and has better options than ARK.

Something else to consider is the USCe job that could open up and I would think Kiffin and Norvel could be targets there.

Next year if Texas has another year like this year that would be 4 years and he may not survive with the likes of OU and Baylor making life hard for him.

Even more interesting would be if Malzahn decided to catch the next bus to Fayetteville. What happens at the Barn and those dominoes. I think this coaching carousel is going to get hot with a lot of jobs and not enough proven candidates to go around. More bad contracts as schools miss out on their first choice and Jimmy Sexton leverages the contracts of about 20 coaches in the ACC, SEC and Big12 against each other.

Why do I say that...cause Clemson is feasting on minnows...
Need some more sharks in the water.......
Clemson has top 5 talent...loaded for bear.... and there is no competition in the ACC...

There are many teams that have had runs of greatness. Notre Dame (40s and 60s), Army (40s), Ohio State (60s), Michigan State (60s). Many of these haven't really been relevant in the last 10-20 years but are still considered "blue blood" due to their times of dominance.

In all honesty, I don't know that the term "Blue Bloods" is actually a good term for kids these days. It represents an "OLD" way of doing things and a lot of these newer kids want more "FLASH". I think traditions hold well for our generation, but this younger generation doesn't hold that that mind set as much.... just my 2 cents.

As many games as FSU has played it really doesn't need to be framed with "Bowden/Fisher years" considering they've played over 800 games. Their winning percentage still ranks above every team in the SEC sans Alabama.

If I'm not mistaken Winsipedia updates those at the end of every season. As I recall Florida State was just outside of the top ten (#11) closely following Penn State.
