Trent has looked better. Brown has looked good but has not shown me anything special yet.

See run last week from Arky game as example. Has Brown been that electric?

Yeah I know. some of those guys are saying that run was because of bad tackling. But who cares.

I do believe that some on their did say Richardson was, but they could have been Bama fans.

Most are saying it's too early to tell.

It is to early to tell. That run was not just poor tackling but skill and strength as well. If it was Brown running, would it have been all skill on the UT boards?

At this point TR gets the nod. Brown has not shown me anything yet to believe he is the better back. :a:

Or look at the first play in the 4th Q last week, where TR flared out and caught a pass in the flat, then ran OVER the db. I was afraid he was going to be arrested for what he did to that guy...

I have not watched Brice, so I can not rightly have an opinion. I would also caution that we can not say who is better with respects to Trent because we have only seen what he can do as a reserve. I'd be interested to see what Trent could do as a Number One with five games under his belt.

Brice is a decent back, but he's ran against some of the worse defenses in the country, so that doesn't impress me. To me it's not even close TR is the better back by a mile. When people that know WAY more about football than me say TR looks a lot like Emmitt Smith then that says a lot to me.

I would actually put McCalebb ahead of Brown right now, even with him being only 165lbs.

Then of course you have Trent....like I would put anyone ahead of him.

Well I'll be honest. If TR gains HALF the yards Smith did as a Frosh at UF, I'll be thrilled. That'd be about 675 for the ones counting. Trent's good, but I think Ingram is better.I'll take either of our 3 RB's over just about any back in the country. They're badass.

That'll likely happen considering he's over 300 through five games.

But, comparisons between Smith and Trent (IE: freshman years) really can't be done.

Smith ended up starting the third game of the season his frosh year. Trent isn't going to come close to the amount of carries Emmitt had...nowhere near as close. Hell, Smith had close to 40 carries against Bama his freshman year—one game. Trent just broke the 50 carry mark for the season yesterday.

Trent looks more comfortable in his role and system. Not only that but the level he is at physically is above and beyond that of Brown...not taking away anything from Brown..he will get alot better but I wouldnt trade Trent for anyone...I suspect word has gotten around on his strength....

It is a tough comparison this young into the season. But, both do play behind a more experienced back, and the offenses both rely somewhat on an effective running game. So, fair enough.

Trent's a strong, young kid. My concern with him and all our backs is that they productive and stay HEALTHY. If Brice Brown gets a few more yards and carries the ball more than he should as a young 'un, then they can have it.
