Take it from an old man from TX who knows a thing or two about Westerns...
one of the worst movies ever.

btw, that depiction is definitely NOT the fan reaction from Austin. Most Texas fans are extremely happy to have Charlie Strong as the new HC at Texas, myself included.

If your opinion on westerns is as good as your opinions on... anything else... guess I should assume its the direct opposite.

Yeah sure you are... like dude said before... you would get another coach and like it, regardless.

Blazing Saddles is a Western, Monty Python and the Holy Grail chronicles a religious pilgrimage, and Springtime for Hitler is a tender ballad. Blazing Saddles is 40 years old (hard to believe). Hell, even as a forty year old in 1974, you couldn't see the satire and humor in it?

I've never been a fan of that dry wit British humor, but to each their own. I'm not criticizing anyone if they like the Monty Python series. I, myself, am just not a fan. I don't really find the satire analogous to the real fan reaction from the vat majority of Texas fans. It certainly was not a let-down reaction of Texas fans to hearing the news of the hiring of Charlie Strong. In fact, quite the opposite. Many of us are thrilled that Strong is the new head coach at Texas.

Horse shit. You went on for weeks (still are) about Saban being the HC... I don't recall you ever starting threads saying, we're gonna steal Charlie Strong. Hence the video...you've settled.

I got one thing wrong, Matt.

I said they'd likely settle for an ACC coach. It was AAC. I can't say it was a typo either...

(Still scratching my head on how someone calls Mel Brooks, British humor...but that's better off left for another thread.)

Yes, that fine British gentlemen, Sir Mel Brooks. Ole Tex is as out of touch on cinema as he is on the Horns' longings...
