🏈 Former Alabama offensive coordinator, Brian Daboll, hired as new NY Giants head coach.

Don't know if this has factored into anything re: Flores, but when he was fired from the Dolphins, Tua publicly said he didn't know how to talk to adults. Tua was tired of Flores hurling f-bombs at him; something that's not in Tua's character. Most everyone else can shake off "hard coaching," but Tua's words carried fifteen minutes of fame that day.

On the other hand, Belichick's text messages probably execarbated the situation.

When I saw this guy on tv during the game the other day, I thought, this guy looks more like a yuppie than a coach.

Sure enough, the book matches the cover. Guess there is more than one way to skin a cat.

Flores throwing a flaming gas can on the Dolphins situation may have averted this, but I'd like to see him get a shot just to see how it works out. But yeah, he's an interesting character. Looks and sounds more like a level 8 dungeon master and a guy who can quote every Star Wars line and puts mayo on his hotdogs than he does an NFL head coach.

Both teams are behind the 8 ball now... which is really bad for Jacksonville because they've had all kinds of time to get something done. Their GM Baalke should have been canned along with Urban, he was the one that went to bat for him. Don't know what they'll end up doing, but word earlier today from some friends covering the Sr. Bowl was that Miami appears set to offer 49ers OC Mike McDaniel very soon. Would be an interesting hire if so... for those not familiar, check him out. Not your prototypical football coach.

They got him. I like the hire. A bit high risk/high reward, but should work well with Tua and that offense. And at least it isn’t an NFL retread head coach…
