🏈 For those of you who don't knw...Jax State beat Ole Miss!

Troy wanted to big, both from a school standpoint and athletics, and had the financial backing in the latter. Troy has been able to exploit its Montgomery tie-in with the military to expand. Big financial backers, including Sanders Trucking and Lead and the formerly solvent Movie Gallery advanced the football plan. Darren, based on the number of aubrun tie-ins, I can't take issue with your analysis.

I'm not familiar enough with JSU dynamics to know who the potential deep pockets are there.

There are 2-3 reasons JSU is still D1AA.

JSU was formerly a teacher's college and the pockets are not deep. There are a few notable alums such as Randy Owen of the group Alabama, Joe Kines, and Rick and Bubba, but not many high rollers. The administration in the early 90's was reactive. Part of the initial holdup to making the move was title 9 compliance. JSU had suspended operation of its back to back national championship winning women's gymnastics program in 1986. If I remember correctly, it was the result of D2 gymnastics being killed. In order to continue they would have had to move to D1 and did not have the facilities or money to offer an equal number of women's programs.
We finally made the D1AA move a few years after Troy (sucks).

The D1 move has been in the works for a while, however the second reason it has not yet happened, is that the NCAA froze D1 a few years ago. If you had not yet been accepted to join, you had to wait until 2011. JSU has now done the things necessary to make the move, such as expanding the seating capacity of the stadium and adding women's sports programs, and will begin the move up next year. There was still some debate on whether or not it would happen, but I will say that beating Ole Miss sealed the deal.

I'm a Jax State alum and I'm pleased as punch. However, I'm also ticked off. I was watching the game and was gonna have to leave so I cranked up the VCR. By the time I had to leave, the score was 31-10, which is about what it should have been, given the way Ole Miss was running all over us. So, what happens? I turned off my VCR and JSU stages the greatest comeback in the history of the school. DANG!! DANG!! DANG!!

You have the roles reversed. Troy was the female dog.

The difference in JSU and Troy is, Troy sucks. They sucked in D2. They sucked in 1AA. They still suck in FBS. Win, lose or draw, like Auburn and UT, Troy Sucks. In fact, Auburn and Tennessee could take lessons on how to suck from Troy.

From their marching band and Tommy Long who spent his career trying to make the band big, loud, and nasty, to Larry "Keep it down home cuz" Blakeney, to that oversized high school stadium they play in...all that is Troy produces and extremely high level of vacuum. If you have ever seen the area around the base of a tornado...they call it the suck zone...and I am talking about one of the big F5 monsters, not a wimply little F1...it pales beside the epic suckage that is Troy. Troy suckage is hide the women and children suckage...I am talking atom smashing, building imploding, planet destroying, bloody center of the universe light can't escape black hole suckage..

JSU will start the move to D1 next year, so maybe Troy and JSU can play again real soon...renewing a series that JSU LEADS 32-29-2. It was a larger lead but they played a number of times after Troy moved to D1 and had more scholarships.

That is a really stupid statement. I mean REALLy stupid. They have 3 National Titles while Jacksonville State has 1. So if Troy sucked in D-II how bad must Jax State suck? They've also won 4 Sun Belt Conference Titles and been to 5 bowl games as well as breeding such Pro Bowlers in the NFL as Osi Umeniyora, Demarcus Ware, Lawrence Tynes, and another soon to be great player Leodis McKelvin. How many All Pros has Jax State bred? I get that you have a hard-on for jax state but theres no reason to throw Troy under the bus while u ride Jax State's genitals....

Sorry, Troy sucks. I may have to put that as my closing statement in the Trickle Down from now on simply because it feels so good to say it again. They suck so badly that at JSU we scream "Troy Sucks" in the middle of playing our alternate fight song (Dixie). What is WRONG is saying that JSU was Troy's whipping boy. JSU LEADS THE SERIES. JSU owned Troy at D2 so Troy moved up to get away from us. We moved to D1AA and you ran up to D1. When we move to D1 it will be interesting to see if you just give up football all together.

JSU has been a lower division school yet still produced great players like Pro Bowler Eric Davis. Darius McKeller' dad Keith played at JSU before his NFL career in which the Buffalo "K-Gun" offense (named after him) was designed. He was a big part of their superbowl run. There have been a number of others with solid careers like Alvin Wright.

Finally, don't take offense at me stating the fact of Troy's suckage. You are probably too young ton remember but Troy and JSU were Alabama and Auburn of D2 (btw Troy was the Auburn) - only more hateful. In the Southerners we had songs we sang about hating Troy. We really, really didn't like each other back in the day. I can hardly control my jubilation at the prospect of a return to smacking Troy around like a rented mule.

Do you have ESPN3 online? You can play it back...it will probably make 10 yard torrents too.

Just looked and it is already on ten yard torrents. 1.71 gig download. I will probably dload it tonight myself.

You forget Dieter Brock, although the mention of that CFL HOF'er brings in a suckage seep factor connecting aubrun to Jax State since he started there before ending up at JSU. My HS coach was at Jax State with Brock and said he threw a football harder than anyone he'd ever seen, and could do 225 pound shoulder pullovers.

Good Brock story from the vault: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1119765/index.htm

Nope, all my family and most friends went to or go to Troy (me included) and none of us have any ill feeling towards J-State (like I said I have a friend that plays there) and in fact most could give a damn less about em *shrug*

I didn't forget Deiter...just the barn connection prevented my keys from working.

1) download uTorrent or another torrent program (you will have to configured your DSL modem/router to enable some ports for this). I give my torrent downloading system a static IP so I can open up access to just this ip address.
if you need help on doing this, this link might help http://tenyardtorrents.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15375.
2) search forum here at TYT (direct link to game) --> http://tenyardtorrents.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21070
3) then click the "Download the torrent from the TYT tracker" at the top of that link (direct link) --> http://tenyardtracker.com/details.php?id=11200
4) open above file and it will auto upload into the torrent program you downloaded above.

That being said, if you don't want to deal with this hassle every time, download the game from SECdigitalnetwork, it will cost you a couple of bucks.

Video interview of Coty Blanchard on ESPN. JSU's newly expanded stadium is visible in the background. It looks as nice as any stadium anywhere. It is still small at 25k seats, but it looks nice.
