There will be several schools looking for head coaches and we may lose a few of our assistant coaches to those vacancies. Coach Pruitt will probably get a few offers which I selfishly hope he turns down. If Cal indeed fires their HC, Coach Tosh Lupoi is an alum and they may make him an offer. I don't know if he's ready for a HC job yet and if CJP leaves, maybe would take over as our DC. What do you think?

awbarn (if they lose out)
Texas A&M (safe if they win 9 probably)

We know that some of these coaches that will get fired, will go to these schools. I really hope we don't lose any. But I know if these school want the best then coming here to get a coach is the best for them. All these schools had to look is at UF,USCe,UGA, FIA. I know Bama has other coaches out there but just can't think of any more, maybe Applewhite at Houston.

I doubt Cal fires their HC this year. He is only in his 1st year and sitting at 4-4 on the season. They were awful under Sonny Dykes from '13-'16. So I think Tosh is safe from going home.

UCLA sitting at 4-3 right now in Mora's 6th year. He is definitely on the hot seat!! He needs to win out to keep his job I believe. This is a likely landing spot for Chip Kelly.
USCw is sitting at 6-2 right now and may very well end up at 10-3 or 11-2. Clay Helton is sitting around 22-8 in his second season. He isn't going anywhere.

Barn- Gus will be canned if he loses to UGA and BAMA again this year. He will have a combined 2-8 record against his 2 biggest rivals, with the 2 wins coming on FREAKING 1 in a million plays!!

A&M- beat the Barn next week and later LSwho, the Aggies will likely give Sumlin an extension. His wife can then throw away the notebook she used to write the hate mail she sent last month!!

IMO, it is just different than it used to be regarding the number of good to great college coaches. We have an A+ coach, maybe you could say that osu has an A- coach, but after that, again in my opinion you could say that clemson and psu have B+ coaches, but then it just seems to drop way off. Who would you consider in the next solid group of up and coming coaches? Is it too soon to put Kirby in that group? To me, it is a lot easier to start naming off over rated coaches.

Up and coming coaches: Mike Bobo (CSU), Mike Norvell (Memphis State), Bill Clark (UAB) are a few that come to mind. All are HC's now and will have the opportunity to move up to bigger schools / programs imo.

I look for Scott Frost, former Nebraska player to get a serious look from the Huskers. I believe he is a UCF this season.

I also think Bill Snyder at KS COULD be on the hot seat.

The question I have about Oregon State is who would want that major headache?

Arky will probably keep BB because of the buyout but his team is horrible.

The next few weeks will determine the fate of Butch Jones. He cannot afford any more in the L column.
