It's easy to have a jaded view based on Winston's history, as well as FSU's, that this was swept under the rug (or in this case pushed over the corner out of sight hoping it would go away.)
You're comment here ... well, I think you're being sarcastic, but there's still the possibility that he's not guilty here. That said, there's certainly reason to suspect something isn't right especially with the University charging others involved. Which, by the way, may have painted them in a corner where a settlement like this was their only recourse. IE: That guy is guilty, that guy isn't, even though both did the same thing.
It's my belief people are still missing why this was settled. It's ENTIRELY believable. Hell, we heard people from ESPN take sides in this whole sordid ordeal.
Kinsman, who left FSU in November 2013 when the case became publicly known, argued that continued harassment denied her of her educational opportunities under Title IX.
When her name got out, how do you think some of the fans, the rabid ones, treated her on campus? Even if she had that one class where no one said anything, you know she had it in the back of her mind with every strange glance.
The criminal case is the definitive he said, she said. The way it was handled is more clear cut. Their decisions did create an environment where her learning opportunities were put at a disadvantage.
That's how all this reads to me ...
