šŸˆ Florida State agrees to pay Winston accuser $950,000 to settle suit

Winston did not rape her. When I read the entire police report and follow up information a while back, it became clear that to me that he was innocent. And to the judicial system as well.

Like I said, she has a case against the university and the way it was all handled.... But she has no case against Winston.
You may be right in saying he didn't rape her. I do find your reasoning suspect.

•You read the entire police report and based on what you read you've come to the conclusion he's innocent.
•She has a case against the University because of the way it was handled.

The way it was handled, like the main detective admitting he made "missteps" in the investigation, makes the police report published questionable, at best. The University's handling of this, sending the reports to the Athletic Department and Winston's attorney's before the the judicial system, was wrong and it's the reason this is settled. When the evidence was getting to be overwhelming this investigation had been botched, you see FSU and their attorney's settling. Why?

It seems to me if you make a judgement based on something that was flawed originally, the chances of your judgement being flawed are fairly high. The chain of evidence thing...there's no telling what's the story in the end.

Why?

The father/girl/family has every right to be mad at the university and the university should have to pay up.

But Winston is not guilty... This is a girl who got drunk and cheated on her BF, felt bad about it, and made inaccurate accusations.

There's a reason he wasn't prosecuted and/or found guilty.

Based on what I've read/heard, I don't agree. I think he raped her.

Fair enough. I agree with that.

I'll put it this way... Understanding how college life is... And knowing what Winston's status likely was on that campus.... And how this girl knowingly went home with him despite having a boyfriend.... This certainly appears to be a simple case of a chick getting drunk, f*cking the star QB, then pretending like she was taken advantage of because she regretted cheating on her BF.

Oh, I get that. I also get the "cock tease" that happens every freakin' night in the bar industry (experience, thankfully, can teach one the signs...but I digress.)

(Smart ass comment here: I wonder if all those who wished Winston the "best of luck" when he didn't commit to Bama feel the same way today.)

As some of you know, I worked with Winston's mother for several years. I know her to be a good woman of high character who was mortified by these events. I think that much of what happened at least through his time at FSU began in high school when his athletic prowess was recognized, so his poor choices and bad behavior went overlooked and uncorrected. Whether deliberately or through incompetence the Tallahassee PD totally botched this investigation, so that the truth will never be known. Consensual sex or drugged and raped- who knows.
