šŸˆ Florida and Mullen - an embarrassment to the SEC

It was bad enough their LB Houston made the absolutely stupid boasts before the game and that key players opted out of the bowl and that the remaining players laid an egg in the Cotton Bowl ... but for Mullens to then make an idiot of himself once again at the postgame press conference did nothing but exacerbate the embarrassment that Florida has become under his leadership.

Unless a team is in the playoffs... bowl games mean nothing. I have no issue with guys opting out. In fact, I would encourage it... it allows the next generation to get some valuable game time for the next year.

The best part of that game for the Gators was the warmups in those short pants with their headsets with music.

It all went to shit at the kickoff. That Wagon ran over that Gator time and time again. The easy button crowd in the college football player pool and nothing is going to change that. It will only get worse.

I didn’t see an issue with anything he said. He was right, they had a lot of dudes playing that haven’t played before and they had a ton of opt outs.

Regardless of circumstances the Gators got their asses handed to them

@OldPlayer
why give these quitters anything ....
"Opt out " is to nice....they quit on their fans, team, university , coaches etc
Dont have tobe politically correct....they QUIT...

Mullen wouldn’t own up to the loss. Just trying to pretend the game didn’t happen. It happened for OU. Their players prepared and opted in, and showed up. It was a fair beat down in my books. Can’t pretend the game didn’t happen. If so, give the money back. Pretend the check never came in the mail... Ugly performance. About as bad as Bama vs Clemson 2 seasons ago. Unfortunately, we had all our guys (no opt outs). 55-20 last night vs 44-16.

Did Bama affect Florida three games in a row? Yes.

Mullen blow this? Yes.

Is it the least of his worries? No. Strickland is pissed...before this fiasco of a bowl season

I'd imagine that whole crowd complaint fiasco after the A&M loss followed by the massive breakout didn't sit well. It shouldn't!

This guy is kind of an ego maniac. I actually don't find the press conference bad at all when compared to some other more questionable instances.

The 4 teams in the playoffs are all the matters and the sooner we learn to deal with that then the better. Nick is doing a great job of holding the Bama program in the road but he to will lose this battle with the easy button generation.

Coach Bryant...........

ā€œThe old lessons (work, self-discipline, sacrifice, teamwork, fighting to achieve) aren’t being taught by many people other than football coaches these days. The football coach has a captive audience and can teach these lessons because the communication lines between himself and his players are more wide open than between kids and parents. We better teach these lessons or else the country’s future population will be made up of a majority of crooks, drug addicts, or people on relief.ā€

So in the pregame last night, the announcers made a point to say that Florida had a lot to opt out/quit and that they only had around 60+ scholarship players with them. Now in his post game presser, Cousin Eddie says that they were ā€œunder the number to playā€. Hmmmmm!!! That number set by the SEC was 53 and ā€œif it fell under that, then it was up to the school!ā€ Cousin Eddie math 60+=53? WTH? Excuses!!!!
