We will probably start like we did in the SECCG and fake a run to the left and throw to a tight end to the right.

I think Tosu will do a play action pass and test Cy Jones deep, with all that's been said about our defending the long ball.

Why would they choose Cy? Of course, I've asked that same question about several teams this season who seemed to go after him time and time again.

Cy got burned last year several times. I truly hope the OSU staff chooses last years' game film to review both defense and offense for the Tide.

I think we use a play action pass to get Blake in rhythm early. As for tOSU, the idea of testing one of our corners is obvious, BUT I wouldn't throw at Cy! Cy has been money all year long. The "other" side is the question area. I think they try play action to try and get their QB settled early. If not pass, zone read.

Interesting little side note about that:

As the season went on you likely read some of the reports Chris Walsh wrote breaking down the numbers (Upon Further Review series) on defensive tackles, assists, etc. When these teams we faced "attacked the other side," their success rate was around 50%.

Just using one game as an example, Auburn threw at Eddie Jackson (still sporting that knee brace and far from 100%) six times and only completed three. Long completions, yes. I'll argue some of his breakdowns had to do with injury. They went at Cy three times, one completion. Sylve was thrown at five times, two completions.

The breakdown in our secondary that game was from Geno where Marshall completed three of four.

Using the SECCG as example: Attempts vs completions:

Jackson 4 and 2
Cy 4 and 1
Geno 8 and 4.

NOW, just to add one last thought...we're looking at a 50% completion rate on the corners on the other side...and some bitch about it.

I tried to point to a bend but don't break style of defense weeks ago...in those last two games, 11 trips the opponents had in the red zone and the defense gave up three touchdowns.

Glad to see you break it down like that Terry. It has been more our nickel or money corner as opposed to our traditional corners.
I don't mind the bend but don't break. It gets a little frustrating to see us stuff 1st and 2nd down and then give a huge chunk of yardage on 3rd down. I know that the big uglies up front get frustrated more than us.
