🏈 First offensive play for Alabama - San Jose State

I'm going with Big Fan here. they're going to pass from the git go. Coach wants to come out hitting hard....
Just becuse everyone else gives SJS no respect...i'm sure that after 20+ hours of watching film CNS has no such delutions.
He's going to want to make a statement with this 1st game. I don't see him letting up @ all. He'll firewall the throttle this game and
not let up till the Spartins are boarding the plane back to California.

As I said in the Trickle Down, this is a vanilla offense blowout. We can hand the ball off 50 times and ruts. We may have a lot of passing yards but it will be the yards after catch variety.

Unless we come out with our foot on the brake (intentionally holding back) this game will be ugly fast. I didn't realize how bad it was until I did the research. They have a little talent at LB and the secondary is not the worst I have seen, but their DL is hopelessly out of their league. That will tell the story of this game.

First play I say hand off to Richardson for 20-30 yards gain.

I don't think there is any contest that this is a run play with Richardson. Get his jitters out of the way on the first play (first game as a starter) and set the tone for not only tonight but the season. Saban and McElwain want a physical offense. What better way to kick off that process than your BACK UP gashing a team for 15+ yards between the tackles?

Just my two cents...

Although, in re: the bomb to Julio--it isn't a terrible idea. He had a rough season injury-wise last year and just wasn't consistent. He needs to be your big play wideout and that would be a good way to show the staff's confidence in him.

All that being said, this is SJSU--they could probably run McElroy up the middle for a first down just as easily.
