🏈 🔥 Hot Seat 2025 / Coaching Carousel:

I still think Vandy is playing with house money and could lose at least 2 more games with one of those sadly being the Barn. They would be on a 3 game winning streak before Bama with some momentum and belief. Hope it does not play out that way....

That should be a message to ANY COACH, Woodward will meddle in their program... He needs to be fired too..
So, what are you going to tell the baseball group? You know, one of the largest sects of fans in the nation who just saw their team win a national title? Through, mind you, a coach hired by him. That's not the only hire he's made at LSU which resulted in a national title.

Now that you've made your way through those two booster groups you have your biggest task at hand. How do you handle the political power Woodward holds in the state of Louisiana if you're going to fire him?

You're suggesting he be fired for hiring Brian Kelly? You'll find few, if any, athletic directors who would not have made the same hire. Those same AD's would have had similar contracts with Kelly. Kelly carried that much cache when he was hired.

On the 'off the wall' thought list...

Anyone see the irony of it being Halloween season and the masks are coming off? IE: Kelly dancing with Danny Lewis Jr.

When an athletic director comes in and tells a coach to fire an assistant that he doesn't want to fire... then says he's uncomfortable for the coach to fire the assistants he does want to fire...that is BS.... If I was the coach, I would've told him to go piss up a rope sideways... Then ,if he wanted to fire anyone, then he could do it as the athletic director.. Then I would leak it to the press... I could just see how well that would've went over with Nick Saban... Nick Saban would've probably resigned...
But beyond that, Woodward is responsible for the two most moronic payouts in college football history.. He shouldn't be allowed to manage a McDonald's...

Saban didn't resign when UA told him he had to fire Bo Davis. He also didn't resign when UA told him he couldn't hire Hugh Freeze or (rehire) Jeremy Pruitt.

I'm not defending Woodward here, as you mentioned, his poor decisions played a role in all of it. But AD's make "suggestions" or "demands" all the time, in all sports (if that is actually what happened in this case). Foley made the strong suggestion to Napier last year that he relinquish his play calling duties and just focus on being the HC. Napier declined and stuck with that he wanted to do. Things didn't improve, so he got fired.

If I had to fire a coach that I didn't want to fire, I would make sure that the media knew it was an "athletic director directed decision"... My understanding about Bo Davis is he lied to Saban.. Saban didn't want him anymore because he didn't trust him...Some of those other decisions decisions were beyond Alabama's control..
BUT Saban would have bucked back very hard. If the athletic Director made him retain a coach he wanted to fire.. Woodward told Kelly he couldn't fire the coaches he wanted to get rid of... one of those coaches being the interim head coach there now.. I believe the interim coach there now caused a lot of trouble on that team for Kelly... Kelly wanted to fire LSU heavy's that had "too much clout"... kind of like Pat die always walking around Auburn during several coaching administrations..

Do you realize what you have just said? That's Mike Shula.

I like it when people spit ball thoughts. Sometimes...when they ain't got a clue.

Spitball thoughts ehhh... so you're saying if you was a coach you would keep coaches that you didn't want on your team because the athletic Director said so...ummmmkay
I bet Saban would've walked away..
