šŸˆ šŸ”„ Hot Seat 2025 / Coaching Carousel:

I could agree with this if you are basing your opinion that the AD and boosters at Kentucky don’t have a revolving door installed at the head coaches office in the football building. Otherwise, Barn has better facilities and even more tradition than UK.
Im strictly basing this on his ties to Kentucky, Alum, played linebacker there, coached as the DC and ILB's coach there for a while. I personally think he really wants this job.

And no question Auburn is the better football program overall, if that's what he takes into consideration and ends up taking the job for, then so be it. But I think if given the choice, he's picking Kentucky.

I’ll be honest with you, I hadn’t even looked at Sumrall’s background and the deep ties to UK. I could see him definitely heading to Lexington should they fire Stoops.

It's a job he has privately (maybe even publicly?) said he covets. When he was at Troy it was just assumed his next stop would likely be Kentucky, but then he took the Tulane job. Now, his stock is sky high though and he's on every radar... so he has options. But his dream job was Kentucky (here's a post from 2 years ago mentioning it... this was when Stoops was closing in on a deal with A&M).

In starting to think that Sumrall will not be Auburns head coach next season, for several reasons. Some due to Auburns incompetence, and I personally think Kentucky is going to fire Stoops, and sumrall will absolutely be wanting that job. I'm pretty confident that if it came down between the two, he'd choose Kentucky over Auburn.
Sumrall has seen behind the door of Auburn’s athletic management. Who would want to be part of that? How many coaches have they had in the last 10-15 years? How many left on their own accord?

So in the weekly presser down on the Cow Pasture, Freeze was asked if AD Cohen had given him a ā€œvote of confidenceā€. Freeze responded with ā€œNo! But I wish he would! It would really help!ā€
I don’t know about yall, but that ā€œvote of confidenceā€ was normally the death knell into your career.

I'm not sure why people say stuff like that.
Because we watch the games.... Before jumping to an extreme what that doesn't mean, the D has strenghts, they are getting better, they are creating turnovers, and stepping up at critical times. But the defense struggles against the run. What I do not understand is why is that is so hard to understand and why is that viewed negatively when people point it out.

Hmmmmm

I can't understand why a big time high school team has not made him a head coach...Hoover should have...Or the NFL as a high paid assistant..
If he drops down to high school, his return to college will be much more difficult. Does the name Gerry Faust ring a bell? The Faust story shows that moving from high school to college isn’t easy. Schools remember this and don’t want to repeat it.

Right now he is basically an assistant coach and a school teacher ( last I heard)... I don't think we will ever see him again on a college level anyway.. But at least he could make a good living at a powerhouse school maybe an IMG type school..
