🏈 🔥 Hot Seat 2025 / Coaching Carousel:

Regarding Kentucky, maybe if he knows that Kentucky will fire Stoops this season he'll wait for the job? But there are 2-3 high profile jobs that could be calling his name coming up. So he's have to be pretty confident in stoops being fired not to take them.

I don't see a scenario (right now) where Kentucky fires Stoops this season. If Sumrall wants to wait it out for a year or two, I think it probably happens. But, I can see how the auburn job would be appealing to him... and he already has about 5 years invested on the AL retirement clock, so if he could just make through 1 contract, he'd be vested. And auburn side, there's worse places to live than Lake Martin. If Tulane can grab a playoff spot, that could hurt auburn's chances too unless they were just dead set on him. As far as Freeze, this is just a guess, but I think auburn may be waiting on Florida to do something before they make a move.

Selecting HC's going forward is going to be very difficult. The pool is getting smaller and smaller. This isn't your father's college football and money isn't going to fix it either.

8-4 is going to be good years with 10-2 being an exceptional good year.

Schools and fans (especially schools) are definitely going to have to readjust their expectations... especially in the SEC where it's like the NFL now more than ever. Parity is at an all-time high, point spreads are shrinking, and it's a dog eat dog world every Saturday. And so much of the success comes down to the QB... you land a guy that meets or exceeds high expecains, you're probably going to be in the thick of it. You swing and miss, then you are going to take on water. Evaluating and then developing QB's of extreme importance now.

There is no reason why this could not have waited till the end of the season.. the same with Penn State... It wouldn't make a difference in the amount of wins or losses...

Waiting until the season was over would open the portal at a time when players would be much more freely to move. Doing so now keeps most everyone tied down.

At least I could laugh in being fired... $21 million!!... Franklin $49 million... eventually contracts will only be two years or renewed every year to keep this from happening... some states may even pass laws to prevent this..
