What happened with Rhule?

A name to watch for Penn State is Pat Fitzgerald. He’s going to be back coaching soon and that’s a job that would fit him well.
He's been adamant about staying at Nebraska. So I'm just throwing him out until proven otherwise, which could happen.

Pat Fitzgerald would be a great hire in my opinion, but seeing it from Penn State's perspective.... people may not be too thrilled about that hire.

Ok. I've seen a good bit of Rhule's answers to the questions, but I've not seen anything that makes me think he wouldn't take it or at least seriously consider it if the job was offered. IMO, he's done a masterful job though answering the questions, which is nearly impossible to do authentically. But, as I mentioned the other day, and you pointed out on Fitzgerald, he may have missed his window, at least in terms of needed support. Had this happened a few years ago, he'd have been a stone cold lock for the spot.

But if they did go with Fitzgerald, they could do it soon and he could go ahead and start working on next season's roster (recruiting and retaining) and building a staff on paper.... basically working as a GM while an interim coach takes over on the field the rest of the way.

Rhule has a clause in his contract that says if he, or anyone involved with his contract (his agent or employed/contracted by his agent) has a conversation with a team looking for a coach it must be disclosed to the AD immediately.

I’m surprised Drinkwitz doesn’t get more chatter. I know he makes $9 mill a year. Not sure what his buyout is. Just seems like he would get snipped up by one of the bigger programs sooner than later.

To me, he’s really put Missouri on the map.
