šŸˆ šŸ”„ Hot Seat 2025 / Coaching Carousel: Alabama adds key personnel "behind the scenes."

Roach is already the assistant head coach.
I see you've come back to "assistant head coach" on a few occasions. A title doesn't automatically mean equipped to coach a position. He was given the AHC title when he was retained by DeBoer. He wasn't given the title because the defensive line has been performing better than its peers.

Yeah Roach isn't a good defensive line coach.. I figure he was given the assistant head coach gig because he was an essential recruiter and important to the morale, of the team.. not to mention he was an alum..In order to keep a job he should be moved to LBs..I'm sure he could coach them well..
But, he most likely will stay where he is..I hope for the best!

The frustrations I heard two years ago were loud. They've reached that decibel again. Over the last week or so I've started seeing it bleed over into the public forums.
JMO but I thought Kalen kept Freddie to try and keep some of the players from leaving and that might have worked in our favor. I am not impressed with inside LBer coach Morrell at all. Another of the Sioux BBQ Club.

Couple of notes on this...

Don't know much about Wise... but I am (and have been) all about adding more people with NFL scouting experience to the staff.

Alex Mathis has very deep ties into GA HS recruiting, an area UA is already pretty deep into. But this move helps even more.

Not mentioned in that tweet, but DeBoer has also hired Bradley Aoki from USC (a former USC walk on QB) as an analyst to assist Bryan Ellis working with the QB's. Aoki has been doing so previously with the Trojans on Lincoln Riley's staff, who himself is very hands on in terms of the quarterbacks. Before that, he spent a season on Jay Norvell's staff at Colorado State in a similar role. IMO, really good hire.

What intel? What edge? The whole OL is gone. Only one left is Carroll. Alabama hired a new OL. Alabama is likely to adjust their offensive scheme this spring and summer. So what intel? There is nothing to provide to Auburn.
This is not about personell but scheme and I really doubt Grub changes his scheme in the off season? Scheme, focus and execution are not the same. So what Bama emphasizes could change if they have more success in an area than last year like running the ball. It will not take much to improve the running game. Will hiring this guy matter in the end? Doubt it but Bama lives rent free in the Barners minds and anything they can do to find an edge whether real or imagined they will try.

Okay it's not Grubb's offense. It's CKD's offense. We already seen the shift of offense from year one to year 2... Now we'll see more shift form year 2 to year 3.
