he gone.
Tend to agree. Why wait to announce if he is leaving? If that was his decision, get it out now and jump to name a replacement, at least on the interim side. The announcement likely could be an extension and raise to keep him in Oxford for a much longer time.I couldn't imagine it waiting that long to be announced if he were leaving. To me it feels like they have confidence in winning the Egg Bowl and want to make a statement about keeping Kiffin and driving interest in their program in a weekend where everyone is watching.
In any other reality, maybe. But the world we live in these days... you just never know. After all, it's Kiffin.I couldn't imagine it waiting that long to be announced if he were leaving. To me it feels like they have confidence in winning the Egg Bowl and want to make a statement about keeping Kiffin and driving interest in their program in a weekend where everyone is watching.
I don't know. If he's staying, why not announce it now to quell the raiding of their players and recruits?I couldn't imagine it waiting that long to be announced if he were leaving. The Many Lives of Lane Kiffin: Inside the Ole Miss coach's evolution. Two months ago, late September if I'm right, is when that premiered.Death. Taxes. And Lane Kiffin making things as difficult as possible because he simply canāt help himself.
Great coordinator. Good head coach. Terrible leader.
I think CNS is correct that the sysem is not in place to add reasonable structure around this but Kiffin is not innocent. He has full control and anything like this he turns it into a three ring circus. He has a chance to do something significant at Ole Miss (to Ole Miss standards) and this has the chance of robbing those players of that opportunity. They could still very well rally but Kiffin is not helping them do so in my opinion.Saban is wrong, but giving Kiffin a bit of a pass on how heās handled it is a bit disingenuous. Heās literally gone out of his way to make it a distraction.

Yes, immediately. I posted it last Wednesday.Any able to admit theyāve ran through their mind a simulation of DeBoer losing to Auburn and leaving for Penn St, and then Kiffin pivoting and coming here??![]()
If such a scenario unfolded, how would you feel? Obviously lots of āifāsā to juggle, but would you be okay with Kiffin coming here, after his resume at Ole Miss?Yes, immediately. I posted it last Wednesday.
Why are we talking about this? Especially when its been said the rumors wasn't true?If such a scenario unfolded, how would you feel? Obviously lots of āifāsā to juggle, but would you be okay with Kiffin coming here, after his resume at Ole Miss?
I'd be okay with it, but if I had to pick someone right now I'd go get Cignetti. In my view, he's the closest thing to Saban out there in terms of temperament and drive. He's 64, so he's got a ten-year or less coaching window, but that's who I'd go get if I had to have someone today. If such a scenario unfolded, how would you feel? After the way he did Saban when he got the Fla. Int coaching job!If such a scenario unfolded, how would you feel? Obviously lots of āifāsā to juggle, but would you be okay with Kiffin coming here, after his resume at Ole Miss?
