Just a fantastic commentary on how and why the NCAA should make changes to the how it treats early declarers for the NFL Draft.

The strange thing is that the suggested changes is the current process for baseball.

If you enroll in and attend a single class at a college or university you must wait three years before you can be drafted by MLB. After that third year your name is AUTOMATICALLY included in the draft eligible pool. You can be drafted and actually negotiate with a team, so long as you do not hire an agent up until the time you enroll in and attend a class beginning your fourth year and still remain eligible for college play.

Really, the NCAA should just apply the baseball rules to basketball and football - which in essence is what the author suggests.

Colleges and universities do not do this because the latter sports are revenue generators and they do not want to do anything to upset their revenue stream.
