🏈 Fanney is at North Alabama

I apologize if this article has been posted. I am new member. I did look at past 3 days and did not see any thread.

I don't keep up with lower division football but some friends told me that North Alabama was going to be a powerhouse this year, especially with Fanney and a couple other tranfers.
And does anyone know what Fanney did to get in Saban's dog house. He was one of our starters and counted on to contribute.

Welcome to the board, Homeslice. We talked about this a bit back in the spring when Fanney was suspended for the first half of it. When the 2009 media guide came out and Fanney wasn't on it, that caused a good bit of discussion, so his leaving wasn't a surprise by the time he actually left.

Since Fanney graduated last weekend, I think we can say it wasn't academics. I don't think it was off the field behavior, as that almost always leaks out. That leaves off season workouts, and if I had to guess I'd say his participation there wasn't what CNS wanted.

First, Thanks Michael, glad to join. WOW,if that is the case, so disappointing. That is really a shame. But poor work ethic is a :no-no:. Anyway, i wish him the best at North Alabama. I look forward to the season and sharing some good Bama times.:smile:

I'mpretty sure he had a drinking problem. Ive had a reliable source tell me this.
He has been in and out of rehab since joining the team.

The incident in front of the bar happened in summer of 2007. If he has been arrested since then someone miraculously figured out how to keep the Tuscaloosa PD from getting the info to the world.
