🏈 Fan day crazies were out in force over a day in advance

@BamaFan334, @Crimson&WhiteGecko , @rick4bama I appreciate the kind words and for you guys that liked the post. I have always tried to look out for the other guy. I've been burned because of that trait/fault before, but more times than not, the reward has been well worth it.

I'll tell this one about Fan Day '90. I'm sitting at a table with all of the QBs, scholarship guys and non like myself. People are throwing things up there for us ALL to sign. I get a T-shirt and a poster put in front of me and the T-shirt is from my HS. I look up and it is from one of MY old teammates that was a couple of years younger than me!!!
I stammered around, signed it and looked all dumbfounded as he walked off. I turn to the guys and the entire table was rolling!!:rolf:

It's like golf man, it's the one shot/time that will keep you coming back.

And :rolf: at the last part.

I went to the '09 version of The Running of the Gumps and that was my first and last time!! My son, who was 8 at the time wanted to go, so I said sure. We watched a bit of the practice before exiting the stadium to get in line. We hit the field with 30 minutes left and the 2 autographs he wanted most, had lines that stretched the length of the field! It was Julio's and Saban's lines. We ditched that and quickly went around and hit other players, Rolando, Nico, Rashad, etc. To this day, that ball sits in an acrylic case on a shelf in my Man Cave. As the players were leaving, I did slip the ball to my son to take to Julio and got him to sign it!
Best part of the day was when I handed a letter to then equipment manager Tank Connerly. We had a gentleman at my church that was a HUGE BAMA fan and all he ever talked about was BAMA and Saban. He had some mental disabilities and only had the capabilities of a 8-9 year old. I was going to take him with us but his caregiver refused. So I wrote a little letter for Coach Saban telling about this gentlemen. I gave the letter to Tank and told him about the man and what it would mean to him. Tank took it to Coach and 2 weeks later, I received an 8x10 signed picture for this man and a signed poster for myself. When I gave the picture to the gentleman at church, he cried and cried and hugged me. Every Sunday from that time until he died about 6 months later, he would always come to me and talk about his picture from Coach Saban!!

Awesome story, love hearing stuff like that.
