šŸ“” Fambly? Former AU QB calls for Gus to be fired. "Who wants to sign a petition to get rid of Gus I’ll present it to the new AD..."

lmao that is priceless. I was at a party last night and I listened to a life long Auburn fan rant for an hour about how much he hates Gus and how he hopes Alabama bangs 50 on Auburn this year so he will be fired. Granted this guy was severely drunk at that point.

Have these fans forgot when barn folk won that NC. He was the one that won it, not the HC. It was him well that what I was told when he was hired as the new HC!

Is that a real Nick Marshall account? If so he should know Gus very well and you would have to put some credibility into his opinion.

Regardless, they just gave Gus a big fat contract last year because they make emotional decisions. They saw him win a couple of games last year against their two biggest rivals and add on top of that they thought someone else (Arkansas) was trying to date their coach and they made an emotional decision. Couldn't happen to a better bunch.... Glad they have the clown...

Roll Tide!!!

Gus problems
1-He doesn't not a have true dual threat QB that can run that ball like one Nick Marshall
2-He doesn't have a really elite RB as usuual...he must have shet the bed in the Juco ranks these last two years
3-It's possible that the prior OL coach missed on several OL recruits evaluations and they're paying for that this year.

Again I hope they never win another game. I could see them giving Guz a big pay raise but the buyout should have stayed at what it was before the new deal. The AD placed the school at risk all because Guz defeated Bama and Kirby. Pay more in yearly salary but keep the buyout to no more than 3-4 million and that would be paid over a period of years. No way Guz would have declined such an offer. If so then he is more stupid than he even looks.

Hasn't Auburn done that multiple times, extend then fire?
Chizik got a raise and extension in the summer of '11 and was gone by November of '12.
Tubs got a raise in December of '07 along with an extension and was "let go" a year later--in fact, I want to say it was 366 days later.

So, uh, yeah.

Problems are mostly offensive line and the seeming abandonment of the way they used to play with mostly running game and misdirection plays. I guess not having much of a runner at QB preceded that but I think he could do well enough. Crap, Tyler Watts did. They are essentially a pass-first team now without the skill players at receiver or a line that can pass block that well. Kind of a recipe for sucking if you ask me. This is why the PAC looks the way it does.

Auburn’s saving grace is a pretty good defense... particularly the front

If not for Kevin Steele's ability to have a really good defense then Yella Fella would have to dig really deep to get Guz Malzona out of lee county.

Terry Bowden speaking ill of Yella Fella...........

Here is how it works: Fifty to 60 men give $5,000 per year. Wayne would collect it. These are all good men. They didn't ask questions. The coach tells them that everybody cheats so we have to. My first two years we went 11-0 and 9-0-1. My third year, (assistants Jimbo) Fisher and (Rick) Trickett said, "Hall is on the phone a lot with Lowder." I thought he was going back to cheating. I told Hall that when the season was over he needed to move on. I told Garner that I was taking him off coaching for a year. That was the beginning of the end for me.

Jimmy Rane was in on all of this. He is high maintenance. Three current Board of Trustees members gave cash to players - Rane, Spina and McWhorter. Jimmy is a wannabe, a jock sniffer, a loose cannon. He wants to be involved in everything.

I always found it funny how both Tuberville and Chizik followed the same trajectory. Bot of them:

Were given raises and extensions
Had losing seasons in their final years
Despite being on the hot seat, were both both told that if nothing else, they would have one more season to right the ship
And despite being told that they would have one more season, both were gone in no time after losing to us in shut outs in Tuscaloosa. Chizik was fired the very next day, or possibly even the same day
Both of them were replaced very quickly with someone with very little head coaching experience (Chizik had two seasons at Iowa State with a 5-19 record. Malzahn had only one season at Arkansas State)

I would not be a bit surprised to see this cycle repeat itself. If we were to put a beat down on the barn very much akin to 2008 and 2012, Malzahn could be out of there, and his replacement will be greeted by booing fans at the airport

@MunchyOs, I've considered a few scenarios that would end up with Gus being shown another bus; specifically Trailways.

I can see a lot of Auburn fans wanting to see Hugh Freeze hired due to his "success" at Ole Miss--Bama in particular. Imagine if they fired Gus with their eyes set on ol' Hugh...

But, wait. It's well documented with Freeze that Tennessee has always been his dream job. Now, imagine if Fulmer hears Auburn is after Freeze and he's of the same mindset--look at his success against Bama. Considering how messed up their last coaching search was think of the fan reactions if Fulmer tossed Pruitt, hired Freeze, and left Auburn looking again.
