Wisconsin fans are pretty down on this game. Not optimistic at all. Most have already written it up as a loss. Their Oline is in shambles and they know their QB is crap. Furthermore they keep shifting their best athlete, Tanner McEvoy, between WR and safety because they are weak at both spots.

They also lost a starting DL guy and have 2 undersized in their 3 down linemen set. This may be a LONG night for them.

That is what I heard when we played Utah and OhioState. Weights of their OL/DL.

We got our butt kicked in those.

I remember one time we played Auburn and every one was making fun of their freshman OL. Again we could not get to their QB at all. Believe it was during Tubby or Cheeseit era.

One thing that I will say on the subject of who will be the QB, we will have one under center when we face the badgers.
Who ever it is will be the one that the coaches feel deserves the start.
And... I'm good with that!

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Of course I remember watching Bama out quick and bulldoze Mich St, Michigan and Notre Dame pretty much as many predicted

Different years, styles, and schemes. Badgers run a weird D with no support up front with out improved Oline it will be interesting.

Ohio St 2014 and Oklahoma 2008 showed that's possible. They did it in different ways - Ohio St with a QB run game and read option, but they utilized TEs and a physical ground game all year.

Oklahoma ran tons that year, with a TE and often I formation, and did it incredibly well.

This style could be a way Henry and Drake are used concurrently. They can go no huddle, not substitute, but change formations a bunch because Drake can play WR, and Henry can also run good routes and catch the ball.
Solid points, especially the last sentence or two. Both are so versatile. Honestly, with El Tractorcito's size, it wouldn't surprise me if we see Kiffin mix it up with Henry at H-back and roll him out into the flats a few times just to keep both RBs on the field.

I'm getting a boner just thinking about it.

Just spitballing and guessing but I expect Wisc to run blitz a lot with their LBs. It will be a feast or famine type thing with them probably getting some disruption on a few plays but will bite them and allow large gains more often. it should also open up the TE/Slot passes (if we have anyone at QB capable of throwing it 7-12 yards).

Just my opinion I could be wrong and they may come out with a 3 man front and play prevent all game.

There is an article on the forum somewhere talking in depth about their Defense, from what I could tell they do not match up with us well. VT loaded up on our weak OL and did well in 13. However, we made them pay on 1 or 2 plays and that's all it took.

You realize that Suttles didn't see the scrimmage and is putting his own spin on info provided to him, info which already came with the biases from his sources?

I never said Suttles is the one who is right. I said I wish everyone would state straight facts and not opinions. I do believe we were mislead, or Suttles was misinformed, when it comes to Bateman. There are huge discrepancies about him. The guys we had at the scrimmage stated that he was tearing shit up but Suttles said he played against the 2s and 3s virtually the whole time. We also have some reporting Morris's pass to Foster as the best throw of the day. Suttles said it was a common short pass and Foster made a tremendous after the catch play. We were also told Coker had a horrible day and Suttles said that he made the best five passes of the day, along with some very bad passes which seems to be the only reason Coker hasn't locked up the job.

Once again, I greatly appreciate all of the info. Slanted info is way better than no info at all. I just wish people would leave their personal feelings towards a player out of there assessment of how he played. Whether that's our guys here or Suttles sources.

Please read what me and Atticus wrote along with BOL, and virtually everyone else but Suttles. I am trying to remain calm but you either are not reading what we are saying or just flat out don't think we saw what we saw lol. ALL of our accounts are virtually identical except minor details like who we thought looked alittle better in a certain situation.

If we are running a hurry up smash mouth style we may not need a great qb. Just someone that can sale the PA and protect the football.

I'm not trying to make you mad Boz. I read everything that's been posted. I don't know who's right or wrong I just know that we are getting 2 completely different accounts of the same events. Tell me this, did Bateman play most of his snaps against the 2s and 3s?

Dude, stop.

Suttles' sources were boosters. He said so in his article. The closest they get to the program is getting to view a few practices and tour the facilities. They don't rub elbows with players or coaches. Saban may take a minute to shake their hand and give them a gratuitous "Thanks for supporting the program" once in a brief while, but that's it. What Suttles got from them is all 2nd hand, crimson-colored information.

We had two guys from this board that were there, and posted first-hand, OBJECTIVE observations. Not only that, one of them has staff and player sources.

Give it up, bro. Coker ain't starting. He sucks between the ears. His dropback footwork and throwing mechanics suck. A rocket arm won't win us games. He has no touch whatsoever on short/screen passes. They're all lasers.

From what I saw in one article their LBs are undersized. One would think they will need to try and exploit their relative quickness and run gap stunts. If they sit back and let the oline set their blocks it will get ugly quick IMO

I have never seen anything that suggest Morris can play as well as GMAC on his worst day. Maybe he has made Sims like strides in the summer. If Coker is as bad as reports here than Cornwell getting in the doghouse may be te worst thing that could've happened to this team.

Here is to hoping Suttles sources are right or BB puts on 20lbs in the next 10 days or Cornwell gets out of Sabans doghouse. I can't handle another USCe from '09 an Morris will likely have at least one of those games if he's starts. He would be the least talented qb we have ever started under Saban and that includes Shula recruits.

Jryan - it's like this - you either believe Boz is lying OR that he has an agenda. As far as I can tell, and I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, Boz's only agenda is that the very best QB make the field. That's it. This isn't about being RIGHT and proving you wrong. This isn't about anything but what he saw, what he thinks, what he heard from sources, and his desire for us to WIN.

Short version? GTFO

I would Imagine they will bring the house a few times, but, if I know Kiffin he will exploit that until the cows come home. The only chance they really have is to straight up beat the run and have some kind of wicked secondary that dares us to beat them. I dunno about you I just don't see it.

I know you're not, I'm not getting upset I just want to make sure you read everything. Bateman played with the 1's some against the 1's Def and a mix and match of 1's, 2's and 3's. I'd say out of his snaps alittle less than half was 1 on 1.

Morris took 85% of the 1st team snaps, Coker some and then mismatch, same for Bateman.

You mentioned Suttles said "We also have some reporting Morris's pass to Foster as the best throw of the day. Suttles said it was a common short pass and Foster made a tremendous after the catch play"

It was a 35/40 yard missile that hit foster's right shoulder that drove him in that direction, which made his cover miss. Kind of like a 5 out, the QB should hit the WR outside shoulder leading them away from danger. It was perfect.

I mentioned one of Coker's TD passes was to Mullaney whom did actually make an amazing catch. Coker literally threw it at his feet while he was running away, he turned his body, snagged the ball and fall backwards all at the same time. Was beautiful as well.

Don't get me wrong Jake hits a nice pass here and there, but that's it. Almost every time he hit a good pass, a scout would say he should have thrown it 3 seconds earlier for a TD.

At this point I say play both Coker and Morris and see what happens.

Your woolly is showing. If anybody has a different opinion they can GTFO.
Once again, I'm not saying who is right or wrong I'm just saying somebody is. I am obviously not a fan of Morris so I hope that Suttles is right. I would rather have any qb but Morris start. He is the least talented guy we have. Does that mean we can't win with him? No. But we are going to have more fights on our hands than we can win if he is our qb. Undefeated season is likely not possible. In today's game your qb has to be able to win a game for you. Nothing he's done as a 3rd stringer so far suggest that he is capable of doing that. Hell, we made it to the championship with a loss before so we can do it again. I was wrong about Sims last year and I hope I'm wrong about morris(esp if he's the starter). Morris doesn't have Sims legs to fall back on when he makes a bad read or holds the ball to long though and we don't have Coop anymore to bail him out either.
