One thing we can all agree on, at best we are going to have a Very average QB.

If average means that it's a guy who doesn't screw it up for the rest of the team, that's fine with me. If average means he's close to what GMac was his first season playing, that's also fine with me. Jay Barker was a caretaker in 1992, as well. Just lead the offense and don't sulk when things do go perfectly. That's what I want to see.

If this was 2009, I would completely agree. A lot has changed since... We had a record setting QB last year in nearly all areas and lost 2 games. Obviously the D should be improved, hopefully much improved, but the need to score points is much more apparent in todays game.

The 2014 Iron Bowl is certainly proof of that!

More QB rumors swirling......Morris/Bateman now? I have no idea, but I sure don't get the warm fuzzies envisioning JC trotting out there after what we've heard of his camp performance.

I heard one of the best quotes from staffer this morning, he said we will be running a "HUNH smash mouth offense" lol.

I agree with this as a real possibility as I think that is what Saban has been hinting at. He has been very secretive this year.. much more than even normal. I think he wants to do a run heavy, two tight end smash mouth HUNH style and use it to wear down defenses even more. If their defense has to face more plays of us pushing their shit in over and over again, we control field position and have a brutal defense that causes pain and turnovers... I would be happy with that.

It would still line up with the Stallings Era look I have been anticipating for us this year just running it faster.. all this would also explain the flash cards introduction this year.

For the folks that got to watch the scrimmage: In the goalline situations, did we have a lineman come in as the blocking back/full back? if so, who is it this year?

Ohio St 2014 and Oklahoma 2008 showed that's possible. They did it in different ways - Ohio St with a QB run game and read option, but they utilized TEs and a physical ground game all year.

Oklahoma ran tons that year, with a TE and often I formation, and did it incredibly well.

This style could be a way Henry and Drake are used concurrently. They can go no huddle, not substitute, but change formations a bunch because Drake can play WR, and Henry can also run good routes and catch the ball.

When I watched C. Black's interview yesterday I was puzzled to why he said they were running a fast pace O...all of the CNS comments have alluded to slowing it down from last year. Now this makes C. Black's comments make sense.

Fast to the line, they wait out the clock each time. Kind of like Arkansas or the barn. No subs.

Wisconsin fans are pretty down on this game. Not optimistic at all. Most have already written it up as a loss. Their Oline is in shambles and they know their QB is crap. Furthermore they keep shifting their best athlete, Tanner McEvoy, between WR and safety because they are weak at both spots.
