Kiffin uses lot of playbooks that calls for base concepts like zone blocking or certain passing concepts. He like to use two back formation or double tight-end set or H-back... so I'm not sure where Kiffin offense wasn't suited for TE or whatever. Cooper was a talent who had to get the ball every time... This year we'll be able to spread the ball around to talented receivers making it harder for opposing defense to figure out whos getting ball on each play.

IMO, we just had an ineffective slot WR last year from a getting open and catching passes standpoint. Cooper and D White had some pretty nice moments from the Slot. I think that's more of a Jimmy's & Joe's thing, honestly.

Drake is a better short yardage back than Henry (based on what limited reps I've seen) simply because he turns better and quicker to exploit small seams on the interior.

I still truly believe that Drake could have converted on some of those short yardage situations against Auburn in 2013. Yeldon clearly wasn't 100% but we kept giving him the rock. I realize there were significant ball security concerns with The Drake, but I would have loved to see him get a shot...

I guess it's starting to look like Morris will be the guy, but I wonder if Coker might have performed better had he been told at some point "You are our quarterback". I wonder if he might have responded to situations with more confidence and decisiveness. From everyone's comments he sounds as if he's full of doubts. We may never know since it's all decided now. All we're waiting on is an announcement or to watch them run onto the field in Dallas.

I still stand by the prediction of an undefeated season and number 16 title whoever the quarterback is. I just had visions of a quarterback slicing and dicing opposing defenses as the Tide marches down the field, or hitting a deep crossing route, far away down the field for a long touchdown. I wish my team had a big armed dangerous quarterback for once. I suppose it's still more fun to win.

A few tidbits and some updates:

[HIDE-REPLY-THANKS]First I am hearing Bradley Sylve broke his hand.[/HIDE-REPLY-THANKS]

D Henry will be able to truly run this year with an improved Oline. The sweep is deadly and like one post so eloquently put it, you can't get yards when you are hit in the backfield.

@ttownlaw5 , it was me who made the comment about OJ sucking, he does suck at blocking and catching here lately. I said Brandon Greene was far superior at both. Which he is.

I posted what my staff source thinks of Morris, let me add to that from the players perspective. He is a well respected guy, he knows the offense, he has a nice arm, the team supports him. These are the kinds of things I hear about him from players. So obviously he has all the tools to get the job done. Let's see it all pan out now.

As clarification my comments on Mullaney and the slot position were not meant to reflect on anything offensively from last year. Obviously Cooper and to a lesser extent White performed at high levels. My comments were more geared toward the offense this year and the use of personnel relative to the fact that they are replacing the 3 top receivers. I just think that Mullaney in particular may fit that slot role well, in particular if you have say, Drake and Stewart motioning around to draw the primary D-backs. again just my opinion on the hypothetical

I've had no less than a dozen people say they think the Tide will be able to rush on anyone in the conference. There's a lot of confidence in this line ... I really like the left side.

I've had a half of a dozen or so ask about BS ... smoke, fire.

No worries. I had to negotiate being off for the Bama game in my contract and my employer scheduled me to work. And I went straight black woman...

"Awww HELL NAWWWWW!!!!"

Our company has made deep cuts and I find myself manning a combination phone answering/pay window/admin position in addition to my regular job. I have invented several creative ways to deal with sales and telemarketers that seem to make up 75% of the phone calls I field.

Speaking in spanish is one of them

I'm thinking of traveling to south Florida for a bit. I should probably learn Spanish too.
