Coker is definitely late on the instagram throws. Only 2 throws in practice... But I tend to believe Boz when he says its a consistent issue.

All I can think is the staff is giving him the first shot cause he's a good guy, his teammates respect him, and he's a senior who may improve quickly with game experience. That throwing motion is just so long, that if you don't see the play ahead of time, it's hard to be on time. Not sure "seeing the play ahead of time" is going to be his strength.

I have little to no doubt that the staff will not be shuffling QB's most of the season. Still can win big though... Big throws as the right time!
Honestly what you listed is all I can think of. So I just need to be semi athletic and a good guy and I can start lol. Either way we will likely see 2 QBS play next Saturday.

Just read the backside DE after the snap, bruh. A-la Tebow and Florida a few years ago.

Put Drake in the slot, motion him across the formation pre-snap. If corners are playing soft, hand it to the Drake. If a corner goes or shifts with him, look for the dive with King Henry. If the backside DE crashes inside, keep it to the outside.

We're talking zone-read spread here, bro. Not Notre Dame Box shit.

That's actually not that hard but my school was super pro style.

It's simple. Just get Jake outside the pocket. If he keeps and the corner leaves Drake for Qb run support, dump it over the top to him on a wheel route.

It gives the opponent D 4 things to defend after the snap.

It sounds simple but it isn't without out hours and hours of practicing it. What if the outside backer or safety creeps up? If Coker is the "heavy or slow thinker" that we all think he is, he will screw this up and there will be fumble upon fumble!

@Tidestalker and @Sgt. Lincoln Osiris, I think you guys don't understand the complexity of the read option. That shit has to be practiced everyday and twice on Friday! Meshpoints ( where the ball is between back and QB )are crucial. Finding the read man, reading give or keep. Is it the NG, 1 tech, 3 tech? Is it inside option or outside? If outside, who is the 5 tech, or 7 tech? Who do I read on the pitch? Pitch relationships are a bitch too!
Then you have to teach another blocking schem as well! As CNS has said, "we just need to do what we do! Aight!

The beauty of not running it all the time is that it catches the D off guard. Things don't have to be perfect if the defense isn't expecting it. JMO

And it's not like they're just rolling the ball out and telling them to try a read option.... These guys practice, quite a bit. If he can't read the DE and check to something else when there's 8-9 in the box, we are fucked anyway.

CNS says getting 2 QBs ready for Wisky with a 3rd as backup

Inferences are that it will be Coker/Morris/Bateman. With emphasis on first 2 but he did not specify.

Pull backside guard to block the first colored jersey that shows on the end. If the DE crashes, he has the cheating outside backer. Chances are though, if the OLB is cheating close, the DE will have outside contain. In that case, the OT would peel up to the backer and the pulling guard will kick out the DE for King Henry to get 7+ thru that crease.

I'll bet the farm on Henry against a safety 6 days a week, and twice on Sunday.

If you don't practice it and put the effort in to do it right, it looks like SHIT!! We then have a shitload of fumbles and CNS and all of the armchair QBs here will be bitching about it! There isn't enough hours in the day to practice, run game, 7 on 7, inside runs, outside runs, etc. I know Mushmouth Marshall made it look easy at the Barn, but that is because Gus runs a HS offense. Their WRs are undisciplined and routes are horrible. Mushmouth was often told "peek deep and throw short!" It was open due to the run! They work the reads all of the time!

And now you are proving my point. You are introducing a new blocking scheme to these linemen. "If this guy does this then you do this, if not do this." Pulling a backside guard to kick out IF this guy crashes, peel back a tackle.

Dude. It's not new or foreign to our OL. Most of them blocked in zone-read offenses in HS.

The thing about zone read for OLmen is... NEWS FLASH....ZONE BLOCKING.

They've been blocking shit like this for 5 years at Bama, just without the zone read.

You're really over thinking this, man.
